I visited this artisanal market after shopping in an artisanal street fair, several shops, and along thoroughfares in the city center. I particularly wanted table linens, a wool bag, and a wool vest for my husband, but they had everything you could find in any...More

I live in Oaxaca and buy lots of things for myself, friends, etc., and one of my main sources is the Mercado de Artesania. Though one does have to be careful (sadly, it is true that many things supposedly handmade in Oaxaca are now being...More

If you’re a German backpacker or an elderhostel bus tripper, this might be for you. You can get the kind of tourist junk that is often made in China, bargain your heart out and think you had an authentic experience. However, if you want actual...More

Its a good market, but you can find more options at Mercado Juarez that is really close. Excellent choice to find cheap products

A friend recommended this market as its a collective and all the items are made locally. They don't pressure you and it's not too busy so you can actually browse.

Half the fun of this market is chatting up the salespeople. There are lots of repetitions among the stalls, but you can find small hand-painted bowls for $2. I bought a colorful woven notebook cover with spiral notebook included for $9 that is a conversation...More

Not being in the market for any of the products being sold, i breezed through the Artesannes fairly quickly. If you're in the market for this type of souvenir, this is your place.
