Every church offers you a surprise when you walk in and this is no exception- a must see. It's a peaceful place to sit and meditate.

Some reviewers appear to have confused the Cathedral, fronting the Alameda Park and on the North side of the Zocalo, with Santo Domingo, several blocks north on the walking street, Andador Macedonio Alcala. It's a nice, cool, and quiet place to sit for a while after walking through the hustle bustle of the Zocalo. They are very different styles. The... More

If you visit only one church in Oaxaca, make it the Templo de Santo Domingo. The Cathedral is not as nice. However, being on the Zocalo, why not pop in for a short visit anyway? But then, make sure to walk north on Alcala street to go see the Templo de Santo Domingo (so beautiful).

A definate stop while you're touring the city. Even if you've seen other temples, this one is worth a look

we basically got thrown out within moments of getting in as it was lunchtime. Some fantastic gold work on the altar and adjacent pulpit and there looked to be some good artefacts to study. Hey ho should have got there sooner.

An interesting cathedral in Spanish style. Although it cannot be compared with Cathedral of Santo Domingo de Guzman or Cathedral de Soledad, it is still worth to be seen. There are beautiful flower decorations.

Church is huge but does not have the beauty of a few other churches in this city. Depending on the time of yer you visit will depend on how it is decorated with flowers
