You have to visit this market, it is so vibrant

A great place to try some real local cuisine such as mole negro con pollo, chicken with chocolate spicy sauce, or chillies stuffed with cheese, yum.

We loved every market we visited in Oaxaca. Often the simpler textiles and crafts found in the artisan specialty stores can also be found here for much less, but also less intricate. Although there were some amazing rebozos-- hard to resist buying all kinds of things. Be prepared to bargain some.

If you're looking for a peak into the real Oaxaca, be sure to employ a guide to take you through this incredible market. We enjoyed the unusual offerings including chili-flavored fried grasshoppers, local incense and chocolates. Absolutely not to be missed!

This market is fun, crowded with people and merchandise from clothing to peppers and spices to chili crickets - if you're squeamish try the tiny ones - more crunchy and spicy than anything else. ;)

Wonderful Mexican market giving you a range of items from souvenirs, foods, textiles, cravings and everything in between. Be prepared to spend s couple of hours wandering the market and haggling over prices.

This was an experience to go through this market. It is a mixture of goods and food with places to eat within. You can buy spices, food, clothes and chocolate covered crickets.

This market place has layers. On the outside are tourist shops. as you get closer to the center, you see more shops for the Mexicans. Inside are fish mongers, butcher shops, herbs and vegetables, snack vendors (fruit juice, fried crickets, and spiced peanuts), and sandwich shops.

Great mix of artesania, food, and watching the locals shop, chat, and pass the time. Prices, however, are no better than elsewhere In town.
