Beautiful castle with jaw dropping views of Mexico City
A beautiful estate nestled over 2000 meters above sea level. It offers a breathtaking 360 views of Mexico City and the surrounding Chapultepec park. This is a definite must see not only for the views of Mexico City but to also appreciate the architecture and beautiful grounds of the Castle. From the garden on the first floor by the entrance to the second floor garden, the vibrant stained glass windows, the beautiful paintings, and learning about the history of Mexico City, this place has it all! It is a bit of a hike from the ticket office to the castle so make sure to wear comfortable shoes, breathable clothes and pack some cold water!

    Highlight N Mexico City
It’s a castle and house Anthropologie. I appreciate the vintage furniture, the view from the balcony, the city is beautiful, and the grounds themselves were outstanding. The museum houses much history, but I was most interested in the living quarters, for those like the living quarters for emperor Maximilian and empress Carlota . I loved the 18th Century architecture. I especially loved the stain glass hallway. It is one of the most visited landmarks in Mexico City.

    Great cultural spot
It is a great cultural spot, be prepared with walking shoes as it is a km uphill walking road to the castle, but once you are there you get the best city view. Also the surroundings have other interesting museums where you can go afterwards. It opens 9:30 am

    Stunning views
So much history and beauty. The views you get of the city are absolutely stunning! The garden was beautifully manicured, the castle was gorgeous, and it was great to learn a little more about Mexico’s history. This is a place I would find the time to visit even if you’re on a short trip. Something to note it’s a bit if a hike up to the castle. If you’re traveling with young kids you’ll have to check in your stroller once you reach the castle. They’re is no fee to do so and the process was easy.

    Amazing Castle Experience
Beautiful location and very interesting. We went early (about 9am) and there was hardly anyone there. When we reached the top of the hill, we met a guide (assuming he was independent of the facility) who offered to give us a private tour. Not sure this was necessary as he was a bit difficult to understand and the facility had a lot of things written in English (unlike at the Anthropology Museum where it was all in Spanish). Definitely recommend visiting here but if you want a guided tour, maybe find someone with great reviews in advance.

    Beautiful historic castle
My friend and I only had 2 hours to spend at the castle so we rushed around a little bit. If you do not speak Spanish, I would recommend a tour as there is one whole section that is only in Spanish and we wish we had a guide to explain it to us. If you have a guide, I would imagine you could spend many more hours here! The castle was beautiful, the history and the artefacts were stunning. Would definitely recommend a visit here!

    Chapultepec Castle is a must-visit
As a tourist, visiting Chapultepec Castle in Mexico City was a truly captivating experience. The historical significance of the castle, perched on a hill overlooking the city, is remarkable. The architecture is a splendid blend of European and Mexican influences, and the well-preserved rooms offer a glimpse into Mexico's past. The surrounding Chapultepec Park is an oasis of greenery amidst the bustling city, making it a perfect place to escape and relax. The panoramic views of Mexico City from the castle's balconies are breathtaking. Exploring the museum inside, which showcases Mexican history and art, was both educational and engaging. Overall, Chapultepec Castle is a must-visit for any traveler interested in history, culture, and stunning vistas.

    Great visit
The Castle was one of our week's highlights. There were beautiful murals and exhibits. There are great views of the city from several vantage points. You purchase tickets at the bottom, then walk up a relatively long hill to the castle. The lines were relatively short Tuesday morning at 1100, moved very quickly. Most of the placards describing the exhibits are Spanish w/o English translation.

My top recommendation for Mexico City!
If you're in Mexico City, I highly recommend you take a few hours and visit Chapultepec Castle. The walk up the hill can be just a be a bit much but take your time, nice and easy, and it'll be over quickly. The view and castle are absolutely worth the effort. Make sure you take pesos for the entrance fee, when we went the credit card machines were not working and they only took pesos.

    Wonderful Visit For All
Went with my wife. There were families with their kids, elderly families, school trip kids, and even accessibility for those on a wheelchair. Bathrooms and a locker for your bag are available on site (10mxn for locker). The castle is gorgeous and all the sights and artifacts inside are breathtaking parts of this history. Many places to take pictures and photos are allowed. We had a wonderful time. It is a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes.

This was my favorite activity in Mexico City. Beautiful walk up to the castle. Fantastic artwork and gardens. Best views of the City. Very affordable also. The walk up the hill takes a good 10 to 15 minutes so make sure you can handle it.

The main word I use for this antiquity cannot be better exemplified than… Wow! There is so much history, beauty, art, crafts, and nature within this Castle and its grounds, no words can ever describe its magnificence! One must visit to appreciate it. This is the Mexican National Museum dating back to 1825! This museum is awe inspiring in its exhibits of not just history, but they show the essence of a culture, geography and abounding nature. The museum in an experiential approach that not only allows the visitor to see, but in many ways feel in which life was carried out through its history. As one walks through the property, you are enmeshed into its four segments which comprise this comprehensive expanse: Antiquities; Natural History; Art; and History. Each with its own elegant and inspiring architecture, layout and artifacts. Be ready to walk, and walk, and walk this magnificent facility and make sure to take plenty of water. Although you can do this excursion on your own, it was well worth the cost of having a personal guide, as they enlighten the history, nuances and avail you of discussions you would not otherwise have. This is a superb place to visit.

This experience will cause you to be speechless at the beauty, history, views and architectural elegance. It is a MUST SEE when in Mexico City!!! If you are mobility impaired, you should not go here as the walk to the top can be stressful physically for some travelers.

Beautiful castle with a bit of everything - lots of history, beautiful art, stunning grounds/lookout points and cool rooms showcasing different periods in time. Do note that it's a steep ~1/2 mile climb up to reach the castle and no water is allowed inside the premises (after the climb).

I highly recommend a guided tour. It is all about the history, not much about the artifact or even the view. Be aware of the physical strain. You need to be in OK shape to walk up to the castle. The elevate was out of order for the physically challenged people.

Good to know if you are 65 or over, admission is free. The security guard was nice enough to walk over and tell us we didn’t need to wait in the ticket line - pays to have gray hair!! It is a long walk up the hill and you will feel the effects of the altitude if you tackle this early in your trip to Mexico City.
