This is a must if in Mexico City. The Canal boats are brightly painted and the trip is so peaceful. Amazing experience with lots of stop offs on the way round.

Awesome experience! More people more fun. You can charge her a entire boat or pay by person. We when on Monday so not a lot of visitors. Eat at one of the restaurants, great food. We did a 2 hour tour for 5 people is $1200 pesos plus tip. We have the whole boat by ourselves. Seen some wild life along the way. Stop by tourist trap and saw the famous Mexico city Salamander (axolotl). They are open M-F and till late night / morning. Don’t let google map operation hours mislead you. Call the number in my picture to reserve for any time of the day. Enjoy the ride and the culture!

Full disclosure, we were filming on the gondolas so we were left alone for the most part, others complain of locals selling stuff and yes there was some of that. With that said, I thought it was a really unique and fun experience. The mariachi bands playing and beer boats are what makes it, just that, a fun and unique experience. It was nice to get out of the city and be on the water floating along laughing, talking, and taking in all the interesting sites along the way. It is by no means a luxury boat! You are in Mexico City! But again, we loved the cultural experience.

So you get on this little boat and begin sailing through the canal and suddenly someone is jumping on the boat to sell your jewelry and then someone else jumps on the boat to sell you flowers and then someone else jumps on your boat to sell clay pots and then someone else jumps on your boat to sell roasted corn on the cob. Then a boat full of mariachi band musicians pulls up next to you with blaring music. Then it goes on and on and on and is a complete absolute nightmare.
