This is one of the best sights on the Plaza de la Constitucion (Zocalo) with lovely baroque architecture but I was hoping that the inside would be dripping with gold like most Latin American cathedrals are. Nonetheless it is very beautiful and worth a visit. No shorts allowed.

This Cathedral is huge. And the interior is very beautifully decorated. Definately worth a visit while in the Zocolo.

This is the largest cathedral in the Americas and the most baroque place you are likely to see. While there are many impressive things to see, it is an actively sacred space and the staff treats it as such, which is refreshing. They give tours of the bell towers and times are posted by the east doors.

Like most cathedral, this one has a huge presence in the life of Mexican people. Apart from worshipers, it becomes a centre of attraction to visitors.

This cathedral was literally 500 ft. from my hotel, so we saw it everyday. So beautiful, and full of history.

Much history in these sacred walls. This church is huge with much to see. Right across from the presidential palace in the square.

It is located right next to the zocalo, so it is very easy to find. No admission fee, but taking picture is regulated somehow. There are bunch of people who actually visit the Cathedral and pray, so dont bother them. At night, there is great night light show displayed on the surface of the cathedral. Very beautiful.
