    Overwhelming building and exhibits!
This is a great museum to visit although it can be a bit overwhelming due to its scale and vast quantity of exhibits, so bring as much energy with you as you can! The star exhibits are mostly in the pavilion at the end of the courtyard so don't leave without visiting that. The building itself is quite beautiful and the courtyard is wonderful. Don't miss out on the traditional dances and music happening out front amid the chaos, it all adds to the experience.

A MUST SEE in Mexico City
This very large museum has an amazing collection of artifacts and priceless archaeological treasures. The exhibits are well organized. Much of the written details are in English. This is our second visit and there is always so much to see. We found the Aztec and Mayan sections most interesting especially the immense Aztec Calendar Stone. The gift shop is very nice and we thought a bit expensive.

Take an emotional walk back in time.
This is more than history. Its a walk through culture. The external elements help you to understand the different people of Mexico. For me it was an emotional journey and one I did not expect. A true highlight in my life. Job well done by the curators

    Archeology museum done right.
A must see this places is amazing the relics and descriptions are amazingly displayed. There are a number of diagrams that help illustrate the time and conditions. The staff is unbelievably helpful and seem to be happy to be there.

Must be one of the worlds greatest museums.
If you find yourself in Mexico City you must visit this museum to understand their history and heritage. It was immense but truly educational and interesting. You can easily get by without a guide, but I was lucky to travel with a local history geek.

It's great but needs a makeover and updating
I am not going to repeat all the good things about the Museum. I have been there each time I've been in CDMX and love it, especially the prehistory and Aztec rooms. But there is some things that I feel need to be said. The curation and signage is dated - 1970's male-oriented and academic. The use of modern AV and virtual reality is absent. Considering the money that pours into the place surely some of it could be used to update the AV. The non Spanish signage is sparse. While lots of little cards with writing on it would spoil the aesthetic, surely each of the thousands of items could have a small QR code so you can look up the details in Spanish and English and potentially many other languages. You can only look at so many ceramic pots.

    Amazing Site!
Wild! It was a feast for the eyes and a true learning experience. The architecture was out of this world and the huge cantilever and waterfall made a great impact on me. One of my highlights of our trip to Mexico. Anyone headed to Mexico city should not miss this!

One of the best museums in the world
I have been to this museum several times, and it is always worthwhile. There are so many famous sculptures and items that you will recognise from seeing them in books. amazing to see them in real life. and I really love the quirky faces on all the small sculptures. I would allow at least 3 hours for this place. After that, you might be worn out anyway! Best to come back another time. There is a lovely cafe for a break. Also, don't forget to walk across the road to where the voladores do their act- an extra bonus!

    Not to be missed!
One of my favorite places in all of Mexico City. The museum is a "do not miss" for history buffs, who will want to plan for at least half a day. Even better, plan for lunch at their restaurant, which offers excellent dishes from all over Mexico, and go back for more history once you are refueled.

This is one of the most important museums in North America, showcasing thousands of artifacts from one of the earliest cradles of civilizations. Meticulously curated, it features the cultural and technological advances contributed by Mexico’s indigenous cultures composed of the Olmecs, Mayans and Aztecs in the fields of agriculture, astronomy and architecture, to name a few. Highlights for us were seeing the Aztec stone calendar and the scale model of Tenochtitlan in the 14th century which is Mexico City today. Go first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds. Although we can speak and read Spanish, we hired a private guide to get a better understanding of what we were seeing. The scope of the exhibits was a bit overwhelming and the guide helped us organize all the information in a meaningful way.

This has to be one of the best museums I’ve been to. It is a must see when you visit Mexico City. Each exhibit was very well organized and artifacts beautifully displayed. Although, much of it was in Spanish there were some explanations in English. If you want a full experience then get a guide. It is a lot so brace yourself to spend at least 2 hours there.

Definitely a great museum to see Human history and evolution. We particularly liked the Mayan and Aztec rooms. Very informative and visually spectacular.
Sadly nothing is in English and there is no translation available. That was a major drawback.

What an amazing museum. So much history and archeological findings, right there, for one to enjoy.
The museum is large and modern.
I could have spent a whole day there, if I had time.

It was a nice museum with a huge collection. We went on a Sunday and it was extremely crowded. Only one of four ticket windows was open so we stood in line a long time. The vast majority of the descriptions of items was Spanish only. So if you don’t read Spanish, having an English-speaking guide would make it a much better experience. It is very large, so plan on at least 2 hours to see it all.

The Museum is a must see if you are visiting Mexico City. It just amazing to see all of the pre-hispanic artifacts. If you go plan on spending at least four hours.

The Museo Nacional de Antropologia is perhaps the highlight of all museums in Mexico City. The Museum traces pre Hispanic civilizations located in what was present day Mexico. From the Mayans to the Aztecs and everything in between are featured. From models of ancient Mexico City to the statues and stone work it is all there. This museum is not one to miss and from my experience ranks up,there with the premiere museums in the world. Highly recommended.

Superb museum. Very spacious entry hall and massive outside courtyard, with entrances to several "rooms", each demonstrating different phases in Mexico's history - Mayans, Toltecs, Aztecs etc. Each "room" is like a large museum in itself, and the number and quality of artefacts on display is simply staggering. You can work your way round the rooms at your own pace or in your preferred order. Minor criticisms - most of the interpretation boards are in Spanish only, very little in other languages. And the cafe and restaurant are too small for the number of visitors - both were absolutely packed out when I went, with long queues.
