There is an early Diego Rivera mural here, but it's hard to get access. The Orozco murals blew my mind.

Lovely murals, especially the one by Rivera in the small auditorium (officially closed during our visit, but the guide let us go in.)

We went to an exhibit from the National Gallery of China in Peking. The range of styles of painting was amazing and the beauty was breath taking.

This building is beautiful and steeped in history, but we had a hard time truly understanding it as we missed the tour. We arrived in time but we were told we had to check something into the locker room (a poster), though the woman wouldn't allow me to leave my heavy purse there (why???). Checking this meant we missed the... More

The Antigua Colegio de San Idelfonso was one of my wife's and my own high points during our visit to Mexico City. Of special interest to us were the Orozco and Rivera murals. Not only did the esthetic and political differences between the two appear especially vivid, but the historical significance glared at us amid a splendid structure. The significance... More

I'd visited this place several times over the years, but hadn't really understood these Orozco murals well until I took the tour (in Spanish and included in the admission price). The tour also gives important background information on the building and the historical context of the murals. Highly recommended!

My wife and I were able to see some ot the rooms where the Thesis were defended during the Colonial period. Also saw the early Murals of Orosco and others.

This building close by the Zocalo is perhaps most famous for being the site of Diego Rivera's first mural. However one should not overlook the Orozco murals on the upper floor. A guide will help you understand these better and explain the controversy behind the Cortes-Malinche mural.

This place wraps you with all the history of the building plus a great taste for art exhibits, perfect blend if you want to escape from the craziness of Mexico City's downtown and have a place to chill and enjoy art.
