From up here you can see the whole city which is pretty. No need to pay for the lift, there's a nice stairway to climb too.

We thought the walk up might be a bit strenuous, but it really wasn´t bad at all. It was interesting and enjoyable to find our way up through the pretty neighborhoods and streets or paths, and there were several places to stop and take pictures. At the top, the view was breathtaking and the monument was interesting. There weren't very... More

In this place I have been in several occasions, every time I attend it seems to me as if it were the first time, because every visit I find more beautiful I have illuminated all Guanajuato, with its colors of facades very visible. I also see that the tourist administration has evolved because there are many groups that visit this... More

For the panoramic view of the city take this 25 peso ride and walk down. Great views and lots of fellow viewers - and vendors. Impressive statue and many food stands but little historic info. It's a must do. The graffiti at the site and the lack of security or staff was unlike other areas of the city. We walked... More

Really, not much better close up than from far away (e.g. with zoom on camera). Only visited as our hotel was next door

The is a must- do in Guanajuato. The view from the top is spectacular and there are some nice shops and a little outdoor market with several food stands. The funicular is cheap, smooth, and easy. In my younger years when visiting Guanajuato, I walked at least one way but I must say that the round trip funicular ride made... More

You should take the funicular, if you a bit lazy, but more impressive will be, if you climbed it from down of the city following the small lanes ( callejones) up to the monument of Pipila. If you arrive up you should enjoy a cup of fresh fruit from one of the many vendors. Than you can enjoy this breathtaking... More

No visit to Guanajuato would be complete without riding the funicular up to see El Pipila, the monument honoring the miner who heroically burned down the door to the city's grain storage building as part of Mexico's bid for independence. The best part of your visit will be the tremendous views of Guanajuato as the monument itself is nothing spectacular.

Take the funicular to the top, enjoy the breathtaking views and maybe a cup of fresh fruit from one of the many vendors. 50 Pesos round trip.

Mezmerizing view of the valle. It was the last stop on a great tour, and frankly we were tired, in a good way.
