Amazing spectacle at the end of a heart-stopping urban hike from the city center. The statue is awesome, and the view is one of the best in the world. Walk, drive, come be off sled team, just get to this place as fast as you can.

This is one of the icons of the city and it´s located just on the top of the hills surrounding it. The impressive monument represents an important part of Mexican history and it's definitely worth seeing. Also, this is one amazing view of the whole city. There's not much room to park, but you can find a spot right next... More

The wife was at the height of her altitude sickness when we visited so we didn't stay long. The funicular and monument provided some excellent views. Apparently there is a small bar / restaurant on the hillside near the monument that is a nice spot but the wife wasn't in the mood for that. Guaranteed to get you all the... More

You've got to stop here and see the city from this vantage point. Breathtaking. Don't take the little elevator thing to the top if you can avoid it. Its overpriced. If you are ambulatory and not out of shape, walk up the stairs to the top. Exercise and a great view=winning.

High up on a hill overlooking the city of Guanajuato. Excellent view of the entire city and a must for photos. The cheesy souvenir shops are amusing.

I loved this 500-year-old Spanish gold mining town. The is a Cathedral, not a church, a CATHEDRAL it seems on every corner! The cobblestone streets that are too narrow for cars are riddled below with a vast maze of tunnels for taxis. These tunnels were the gold mines excavated by the Spanish as they built the town above. The whole... More

The view was gorgeous. I liked taking the funicular up to the top and walking down a winding path between buildings. I didn't go to the top of the Pipila statue. It felt too confining for me. There are little shops at the top with some interesting crafts. It's a place worth visiting.

The statue of legendary Pipila overlooking Guanajuato was built in 1939, in the style of those times. There is a funicular to the statue that loads at the rear of teatro Juarez. 25 pesos one way. A climb to the statue would only be recommended for the altitude acclimated. We had ice cream at a terrace restaurant just below the... More

The best way to get a spectacular view of Guanajuato. Many stay up there for more than an hour. I did. I recommend that you take the funicular up to that monument and the get down by foot. The right side down gives better views along the way. I went there three times during my four day stay, at different... More

Unfortunately we went there on Good Friday. No other choice due to our schedule. We had to line up 45-60 minutes for the funicular each way. The park where the statute is was covered with vendors selling food and gift items. The views of the city are nice but hard to enjoy it in that atmosphere.
