The university building catches everyone’s attention. As we passed by, there was a graduation celebration going on with all proud students with families.

The second place (Pipila being the first and most well know) you must go for a view of the prettiest city in Mexico. The building is stunning and the walk up the steps worth the view.

Guanajuato is a university town. So, naturally, you would expect the university to somewhat dominate the structural scene. Well, this university does much more than that. In a city that is renowned for its quaint ambiance, meandering alley streets, and brightly painted houses, the university stands out for its beauty and size. From the iconic steps (now under extensive repair) to the campus above, it is a truly stunning architectural marvel.

Looking down at the city from El Piplia the colors and magnificence of the buildings is a postcard scene. Guanajuato is Mexico's most beautiful city. How stunning that this University was built to contribute to the surroundings. The white color as a backdrop to the yellow Basilica and the red domes of the churches is such a site to see. Well done!

Our tour guide included a tour of the campus and we finished in the Auditorium/Theater. Spectacular. The whole campus was stunning, the architecture the history. Really impressed.

This huge building with the iconic steps seems to pop out of nowhere after walk ng on the narrow nearby streets. Take a few photos and rest a minute before continuing your walking tour around Guanajuato.

Beautiful university with a photogenic long stairway. Great feeling of energy, lots of students. Fun art show on display. And walking distance from all the tourist spots.

The 83 step entrance to the University of Guanajuato classes insures students get an education and a workout. The main building campus building was constructed during the 1940s from locally quarried granite. It’s a gorgeous color and a striking contrast from the 16th century church adjacent. The church still remains but is contained within the main campus building.

The students give the city a vibrant, fascinating feeling adding much to the great feel of the town.

It's a wonderful place to visit and study. The steps are part of the fun. Time to get into shape. Try the Pipila.
