Led by college students, dressed up in ancient clothing, some playing ancient instruments, we walked through several of the over 3,000 alleys (including Alley of the Kiss). While entertaining, and mostly like it was a bunch of drunk college students trying to get tourists to have fun, it was not as informative as we expected (and were led to believe, when purchasing the "admission"/participation). Interesting, and colorful, town and history. With many steps to climb to the university entrance. (We did not confirm it was 100.) Our grandchildren near college age really enjoyed it, older folk like us found it very boisterous and obnoxious. But if you like to sing and dance and laugh like you are drunk, even when sober, this could be for you!

You don't have to speak Spanish to enjoy this experience. Music is the universal language. If you're outgoing, open, and adventurous you can pick up on the fun vibe.

This was nice as a stroll through the city with music. However, despite speaking basic Spanish, I did not understand any of the jokes nor did I know any of the songs (except La Bamba, lol). I would not recommend this at all if you only speak English or if you do not speak Spanish well. If you do speak Spanish, I'd try it because everyone else seemed to be having a very good time.

This is the second time we do the Callejoneadas. We used the company Estudiantina Compostelana. It was very good. Only thing is that I wish they had played more. They included a story at the end to portrait the leyend of the Callejón del beso and to my liking it was way to long and then no song to complete the tour.

But generally speaking is a must if you go to Guanajuato.

It was fun though the quality of music played was so so. They told stories in Spanish as they led the walk and played music so if it is very important for you to understand everything it might be boring. I was lucky to be around with nice locals who explained some of the things to me. The role play part was funny. Overall, it was an experience. I like the souvenir!

It ok for me; my wife loved... it is a nice way to hang out from the alley at night and interacting a little bit with other people. Not too long or short.

As many others have stated in their reviews, many of these ballad tours are too crowded for everyone to hear or see what is going on. Many of the musiciens or signers tell you they are music students but that is just part of the gimmick to get you to buy a ticket. If you don’t have a good grasp of the language, you can still appreciate the quality of the singing and the instrument playing. It is of a fair quality. Many think they get away with paying for a ticket until the group gets to a very narrow alley at which point you will be asked to present your ticket before you can proceed further, at times adding to the bottlenect effect.

Yes, it is no longer a group of students, yes it is only en Espanol and people may get rowdy- but dam it was fun. I could not follow the constant jokes but the crowd did and I laughed along with them. Good music which anyone can enjoy.
The groups leave from Jardin Union every 1/2 hour or so and they all seem different so it is hard to pick the 'right' one to follow. Ticket touts abound and you kind of have to take your chances that you get to go with a great group. Later in the evening seemed a bit better- more fun loving g people.

It takes over an hour and lots of steps involved. Well woth the 100 pesos even if you don't u ne'er stand Spanish.
