Neat Place to See

This was a really neat art museum. It has murals from Orozco and a variety of beautiful pieces of art. It only takes about 1-2 hours to see all of it.

The building itself is very nice both inside and out. When I visited in October 2016 it had two fantastic exhibitions. One was about the works of fashion designer Balenciaga. Even though I am not a fashionista I enjoyed the exhibit with its many dresses and portraits by famous painters such as Rivera and Orozco of women wearing Balenciaga fashions.... More

I just love this building - stunning. Internally, it has a decent sized auditorium used by the Guadalajara University opposite, and several exhibition rooms. I've been in three times, as the exhibitions change frequently. I've enjoyed all of the collections I've seen. Entry is free, you may make a donation at the ticket desk. l say, well worth a visit.

There's a wonderful exhibition at the museum until the 10th July. Over a hundred works which show the evolution of French and Mexican artists since the beginning of the Impressionists which was partly due to the fact that many Mexicans went to the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. It's not just the works: the gallery itself is beautiful and... More

Museum combined a visiting exhibit from Lyon with the museum's collection to show how location didn't matter in the arts movements. If it was happening in Europe, it was happening in Mexico.

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting and seeing the Los Modernos exhibit! It is nicely user friendly & thoughtfully laid out. It is convenient that they have benches for sitting in the galleries. Most of the narrative is in English as well as Spanish.

It's a great way to spend an hour or so and get out of the heat! The building is gorgeous and the exhibits we saw were very interesting, You're not going to see any super famous paintings but you will experience something out of the ordinary.

Ever changing exhibitions of Mexican and international artists. Discover the whimsical work of Maximino Javier until 15 May. Also Ground floor don't miss the Paraninfo with stage backdrop and dome paintings by Orozco.

Naturally, whether you like your visit or not, will highly depend on what kind of exhibitions they have. There were two grrrrreat ones on my visit so I was very pleased. The facility was great as well, providing a good exhibition space. Nice bathrooms as well :) Good place to visit if you like contemporary art.

This is pleasant quick visit art museum with local influence. It's free and located on campus, limited interpretations, thus a knowledge of Spanish will be needed. There isn't much information pamphlet either but overall a good addition to a Guadalajara visit.
