We did not have any reservations for this venue, but got to see the lobby through the doors. It is oval shaped wit marble floors and big chandeliers. Really pretty.

I visited this theatre to watch the Ballet Folklorico - it was a very energetic introduction to traditional Mexican dance. They really get the crowd going - a lot of fun.

We were there for the Mariachi festival. Unless yo have the money for the main floor the seats are very uncomfortable. We were on the third floor and the price was about $70.00 USA. the view was great but hard to sit there

I saw a musical play here one evening. As far as the performance itself, well, I found a bit, almost amateurish, to be performed in such a world class venue as the Theatro. But it was worth the price of admission to see the Theatro in action. The lighting and sound system are remarkable from my own opinion as a... More

The construction is rather nice outside, with a classical frontis, all made with the local cantera stone. Inside it is a bit overdone, but it has very good acoustics and all the modern technology for lights and sound. The ideal moment to visit is when the local Symphonic orchestra plays, which is usually friday night and sundays at midday. It... More

The building has been restored frequently and it now remains as one of the best preserved historical theatres in Mexico. There are brief public tours al lunch time (12-2pm) and it is worh seeing the interiors of the Opera house of Guadalajara.

We had the pleasure of visiting Guadalajara last week and were fortunate that the Folclorico de Universidad de Guadalajara were performing that Sunday. It is a beautiful theatre, wonderful architecture, beautiful mosaics, paintings and it is absolutely stunning when seeing it all during a performance. The dancers were wonderful, their performances and costumes were nothing like I have ever seen... More

I have always wanted to see a performance in this magnificent building; the University of Guadalajara presented a two hour show incorporating traditional dance and music from various regions throughout Mexico and produced an incredible and cohesive story if its people and their traditions. No one should pass up an opportunity to experience something here; it's magic.
