Finishing an Ironman was fun, climbing to the top of the pyramid in Tepoztlan was HARD!!!, but worth it. Go there and then tell us your experience.

Spectacular views once you reach the top so don't be put off by the very steep climb straight up! Wear comfy shoes & bring 1L of water per person, you'll def need it up there. It isn't fun if you're unfit so be prepared, there are many stairs (consistently) & steep inclines - you literally start off on a slight... More

The attraction to me was the walk up. As others have said, it is very strenuous. As such it is different to anything else we experienced in Mexico. We found it quite peaceful. The only other people who seemed to be doing it were crazy locals who were running up it as a fitness activity. The small ruins at the... More

Tepotzlan is a beautyful small city 1.5 hour outsude of Mexico City. Small markets with a diversity of fabulous fresh food, music on the streets, many shops with handcrafted work (for really good prices, compating to the same handcrafts in the cities) and after a long walking / climbing (don't forget to enjoy the nature) you will find on top... This was one helluva climb. When my friend told me it was "strenuous," I thought she was exaggerating. Oh no. She was not. I'm in fairly decent shape, however, I was coming down with a cold and not acclimated to the altitude in Mexico, having just arrived from uber-flat Chicago. Climbing up was seriously challenging, as you work to find... More

A challenging hike up. The guard at the top will tell you how much you have climbed. (1200 feet) Quite a view. We went on Sunday. No 42 peso charge. You will not be alone. Amazing view.

The pyramids are the 2nd largest that you can walk over and they are very imposing, and impressive. The city they were situated in is thought to have been established around 100 BC and continued to be built until about 250 AD. There are some well preserved murals, and ruins, but it's amazing that you can still walk over the... More

I probably enjoyed this site as much as teotihuacan, but for different reasons. All I knew when going there is that there was a pyramid. Really enjoyed looking around in the market. Nothing extraordinary, but still charming. Enjoyed Mass as the old convent church, especially the traditional music. When I toured the convent and looked into the telescope thingy, that's... More
