Los Muertos beach is a perfect spot to watch resident dolphins from. We have watched both a pod of dolphins and a whale and her two calfs enjoying the waters out front of the beach!!

Go to beach to people watch. Didn't swim this time because rainy season kicked up a lot of debris in the ocean.

Playa de los Muertos is the beach to be at. Lots of palapas and umbrellas with beach chairs. Cafes and restaurants serving beach-goers food and drinks. I recommend sitting in front of Ritmo's Beach Cafe (known as Green Chairs) where the service is great and...More

Come to any of the dinning area or walk the beach. The food from many of the restaurants on beach serve great dinners and drink right on beach itself.

This beach seems very safe during the day, many families come here. It's outside of town, which is nice, a bit away from all the tourists and noise. I stayed here for a couple nights in my tent for a small sum of money. The...More

This is a fairly easy walk to the beach or anywhere else in the Zona Romantica, but the trip back up the hill can be challenging, especially after a day at the beach. We found that it kept us in shape. There is a short... More

Hi Tim. Yes it is polluted. Wear shoes and socks while walking on sand. I would not ever swim in that area. For two reasons. February and March 2016 one person perished in rip tides daily. Often the person was only walking... More
