Great area to take a stroll and enjoy a meal. Old Mazatlan or Olas Altas is much less hectic than walking around the golden zone. You can take a walk to Plaza Machado for a nice dinner and drink or head to the bustling Central Market, just watch for the overly aggressive hawkers trying to sell you shirts and clothes... More

Took the city tour and loved this part of it. Beautiful walk through the old town and listening to the history of all the buildings was fascinating.

We spend most of our time in the Old Town. Great restaurants, shopping, and bistros. No resort can compare

The area holds alot of promise, and there is something for everyone. The market is 100 years old and contains just about everything from food to clothing to watches. Try a view from the top of ice box hill and see all of old Mazatlan. A spectacular view of the harbor and the pacific. Check out Herman Melvill hotel and... More

Enjoy a walk through the Old Mazatlan... flower market, watch the butchers at work , identify the fruits and vegetables on the stalls, try not to buy too many bits and pieces. Then enjoy lunch or coffee at a sidewalk restaurant. Perfect day!

We decided to walk from Mercado Centro thru Old Mazatlan and were instantly slowed down by what we encountered. Captured in another world we shifted to neutral and tried to see and engulf all the history that was and is in constant use today. Please venture off the tourist path with gotten wisdom and enjoy the pure joy of discovering... More

Always enjoy seeing new sites and people in this area. Good for walking and discovering unique niche shops! Narrow and colorful historic streets that get better each year. Great bus service from the hotel district in Golden Zone. Great at night.
