- Tommy MRoseville, California2,893 contributionsIt brings back 50-year-old memories! We were here a long time ago (like 1973) and had a motel just across the road from the Malecon. We went to the beach daily, but never walked the Malecon. The whole area has changed a great deal. Now as older citizens we were too old to walk the long path, but we negotiated a deal with a Pulmonia driver, and had an interesting drive the length of the Malecon. Amy our driver told interesting stories. It was a beautiful trip.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 November 2023
- Gardengel-IoWWest Sussex, United Kingdom1,014 contributionsVery pleasantNice paved area, with some good sculptures dotted along the way. You can even walk past the cliff divers if you want to see them but move on quickly before they are tapping you for a tip. There is also, of course, the MAZATLAN sign for your selfie if you can get a spot. Easy enough to cut inland for shops and food.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 December 2023
- Kim HCalgary, Canada247 contributionsStrolling on the MaleconThe Malecón is a well made walkway that runs along the beach. It is quite long and if you like walking… it is a great way to do it. It was a safe environment and great if you like people watching too.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 February 2024
- Marco RBaldwin Park, California14 contributionsMalecon ExperienceIt's always a wonderful walk through the Malecon. There are many places to eat and many spots to watch the sunset. There are also plenty stores to get a beer or a drink and snacks to enjoy while resting or walking. Occasionally you will be approached by an excursion vendor who might offer something to buy. It's not a problem if you don"t buy from them.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 18 February 2024
- Passenger255829708617 contributionsMazatlan is lovelyWe ranted an incredible condo right on the Malecon. Floor to ceiling windows. We’re so glad we brought binoculars to zoom in on all the various activities in the area. We love this place. So friendly and safe. It’s a bit noisy but it’s the life of the city passing by.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 March 2024
- Fireweed25Edmonton, Canada257 contributionsNice views, easy walkThe Malecon is a nice walk along the ocean with beautiful views and easy access to beaches. The boardwalk is clean and wide, but can get hot during the day and there is not much for shade. There are several statues and monuments along the way though disappointing that those with water features and fountains did not have any water. The walk will take you past the cliff divers - yes, it is touristy, though incredible to watch nonetheless. The shops and restaurants/bars are across a very busy street which takes patience and quick decision-making to cross. When you have walked as far as you want it is easy to get a pulmonia to take you back or to your next stop.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 April 2024
- Kimberly BGrove City, Ohio7,475 contributionsWalking around the maleconWe walked from the Cliff Divers area down the malecon and it was a nice stroll. The cliff diving area is large with vendors to get fresh fruit and drinks at (we missed the show and just hung out for awhile). The statues along the walk were nice and made for great picture opportunities. Walking around the Beatles Cavern Club street was neat to see with more picture opportunities. A good way to see the sites on foot and spend a couple of hours.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 26 May 2024

The Malecon is 13 miles of sea front walkway. It is new it is wide, it has its own bike lane. It is not at beach level, but it is a convenient way to have a nice walk overlooking the water on one side and a busy four lane road on the other side.
It depends on what you want. If you want a quiet afternoon stroll. This is excellent. My wife is in a wheel chair so this is an ideal place to roll around in the sun. There is the occasional beach restaurant or souvenir stand. If you want quaint shops, entertainment, and a lot of people enjoying themselves this is not the place. We were on the Malecon four times in the 2 weeks we were in Mazatlan and it is not a happening place. If you enjoy long walks with the person you are with...this is the place for you.

Awesome to have such a long boardwalk. We had a great day seeing the sculptures, the craft stands, the people fishing, and the open water ocean pool. Bring water and a big bag to carry everything.

The Mazatlan Malecon has a lot to offer - sea sights, city sights and interesting displays. Right now there are multiple displays in preparation for Carnival. It is definitely worth spending an afternoon strolling the Malecon.

We visited Malecon twice from our resort Riu Emerald Bay. You can take a taxi or Pulmonia (open taxi), which may cost 200-300 pesos or you can take the public transit bus (cheaper option).
This is a must visit beautiful stretch for walking, sunset views, taking photos, shopping, etc.

I might suggest taking a taxi or a bus here before climbing. We walked from the main Market then up and it was challenging. It was about 1/3 mile up a paved path then over 300 steps to the top. Make sure you pace yourselves. You can buy drinks on the bottom or before the steps start. The clear overlook allows you to get a great view of the city while you are standing over the water. However, you are limited to just a few minutes on the platform. There is another viewing area you don't have to pay extra for which still has a great view.

We had the pleasure of being here during Carnival and the Malecon was full of life and culture for the 5 day celebration. We enjoyed the parade and the local businesses, as well as all the street vendors, and even tucked down to the beach on one of the staircases down. Highly recommend renting a bike if you want to do the whole 21 kms.

We hired a pulmonía to get out of there as fast as possible after being ripped off from the cruise ships hop on hop off tour bus. We went into a store and my teen son sat in front of the fan while I was shopping. The man turned the fan towards the shoes. When we asked why he replied ‘ I can sell you the fan’ how incredibly terrible for business and rude. You don’t deserve tourists to come to your town. Mazatlan is not clean nor safe and that boardwalk is filthy. Don’t bother

Amazing separate bike bath, wide away from cars and pedestrians. flat for novice cyclists.
Walk , lots of spots where there are steps to go to beach.
Take a bus , bigger higher buses so you can get a view of beach. $1 each way. Can also pay for double decker tour buses.
Many restaurants on the beach.
Watch fisherman come in and the different birds watching. near the playground , basketball area.

I live in Mazatlan.
Go to Google maps and enter the start of the malecon (Valentinos) and the end (Monumento a Pedro Infante; the malecon is exactly 6.9 kms (4.3 miles) long.

Hey hey ;)
What’s the best way to get from MZT airport to the Malecon?
Used to have a bus route straight to Valentino then we’d take a taxi to our hotel. But can’t find anything ;((
Thanks & happy travels

How far a walk would it be from cruise ship to Malecon? ....and if too long ... where do we catch a local bus?
Written 19 February 2018
Probably a little too far to walk but there are golf cart cabs or regular cabs to take you downtown

We are cruising to Mazatlan- should we go to Malecon and/or Brujas? We enjoy the beach more than shopping...
Written 22 October 2017
There are beach vendors at brujas to rent chairs and umbrellas, but I don’t remember there being any chair vendors on malecon... maybe there are on cruise ship days. We avoid all things near town on cruise ship days... you will have to take a taxi to brujas.

Quiciera un hotel cerca del expoforum ya que en noviembre 9,10, y 11 habrá un evento de AA. Cuál me recomiendan?

Puede hospedarse en varios hoteles considerando su presupuesto ya que la oferta hotelera es muy amplia.
Los más cercanos son el PARK Royal y el ocean breeze. 😁😎
