Large square with pretty architecture, shady trees, several benches, a gazebo, and restaurants (we enjoyed our lobster lunch at Mr. Lionso, where you can sample tequila for free.) The big yellow building at the far end was once the Machado hacienda, part of a large working ranch. Although our 3,000+ passenger cruise ship was in port, this wasn't at all... More

What a wonderful Plaza! Love the historic buildings. There is lots of history there. Definitely would go back and check it out in the evenings. When they say the square comes more to live!

lots of restaurants and very charming area, a must experience. Especially in the evening when it really comes alive. Picturesque area. Wander the street around to see some amazing architecture, and more restaurants, plenty of photo ops.

We dined on a Sat. night and really enjoyed seeing wedding parties arrive for photos in the gazebo. After dinner we wandered around to check out the many tables of crafts and treats for sale. I ended up buying a few items I did not see anywhere else.

Plaza Machado is a must see. You will experience a beautiful, traditional Mexican plaza. There are several outdoor restaurants, ice cream shops, candy etc. The vendors also offer more custom works than the average tourist trinkets. Live music is also very common.

A beautiful square that is surrounded with wonderful places to eat and shops to visit. It becomes more lively in the evening with music and more the restaurants are open.

The Plaza Machado is the cultural and entertainment hub of Mazatlan. The charming open park-like block is surrounded by sidewalk cafes, a music/art/dance school, the old opera house. Every night the air is filled with sweet music, beatiful people of all ages grooving around. Renoir could do it justice. You could come here without a peso in your pocket and... More
