We always go to the market when in Mazatlan. Since we stay in a house while we are here (& have cooking facilities) we have purchased chickens at the market. We roasted them & they were delicious. The chicken is different looking because they are corn fed hence the yellow skin. Of course we also purchase fruit & veggies. The... More

You owe it to yourself to go see the market. See how it looks and since you most likely won't buy any meat, look at the fruit they have. We went when the mangos were out of season, but they still had dried mangoes that seem like they have sugar added, they are so sweet. No sugar added! They also... More

This huge market is a real experience. Our friendly Pulmonia driver took us there, and waited for us to do some shopping. He helped me find some decent cigars. The market is the central part of the city. Riding in a Pulmonia was only way to get there. For a few extra pesos, he took us to a discount liquor... More

To get a true insight into the food and lifestyle in Mazatlan, then you should see the mercado. There is so much to buy. But my most favorite is the juice bar that is on along the outside of the market, facing the street. There you can get any kind of juice freshly squeezed right in front of you. Probably... More

This is the main local market for produce and meats and the best and cheapest place for them in Mazatlan. There is also a side of this market for souvenirs and tourist things and don't miss out on eating some cheap but good meals on the 2nd floor.

Great place to shop for bargains, and don't miss the restaurants on the second floor at the west end, where you can get a delicious lunch for 50 pesos (less than $3 US).

We wanted to go to the organic farmers market that is only there on Saturday but not having been there before, we realized after that we were at the wrong place. Fruits and vegetables were cheap. Watch out for rats. Some of the vendors are very pushy. But it definitely was an experience to see where the locals shop.

I've been to so many markets that I admit I'm getting picky. If you're a gringo as we are, then don't come here with your heart set on finding designer clothes or unique art. The magic in this place is that it gives you a glimpse of everyday shopping for Mexican Mazatlaners, from leather belts to pigs' heads. There's an... More

The Market has been here for over 100 years. This is the place the locals shop along with the tourists,so you better sharpen your negotiating skills as nothing has a price on it .A great variety of items from fruit and veggies to shirts dresses crafts and pottery to leather goods along with meat and fish as well as various restuarant... We wanted to experience Mazatlan the way the locals do so we headed for the Mercado. It was vibrant and bustling. You can find absolutely everything here. We enjoyed the varied shopping experience and left with our arms full of packages. Most of the vendors were very polite and eager to have you check out their wares. One thing that... More
