After researching things to do for our honeymoon, we decided to make the trek up the mountain for the lighthouse. Though we enjoyed the trip, we would have brought more water with us, and we were disappointed not to actually see the inside of the...More

Took a taxi from the Golden Zone to the lighthouse and walked up from there. The path is currently being improved but it is in really good shape already for a good climb. Probably not for someone with a bad ticker, but if you are...More

We enjoyed our hike up to the lighthouse. Spectacular views of the city. They are doing an outstanding job building a beautiful walk way in very dangerous, HOT conditions. I would suggest taking an extra bottle of water, a sandwich or snack of any kind...More

We took the local bus to nearly the bottom of the hill. Being the tallest lighthouse in the world is what drew us here. It’s a short walk from the bus to the start of the trail. As we went up the hill the views...More

I like to do the climb at least once a year. I always walk to and from Centro, near the Angel Flores, so I need to allow myself 2 to 2.5 hours...depending on how hot it is and how lazy I feel. Haha! Bring water,...More

Although at this moment the road is under repair, it is worth the effort, the view is just incredible. As a suggestion bring water and a hat.

This hike is not for the meek. It takes about 1.5 hours to do and it's all uphill. The view is amazing on the top. I would definitely advise to do in the morning when it is cool.

This climb is not for the elderly who have bad knees. Climbing was ok, it was the descending that was hard on these old knees. We took this hike on a warm, overcast day. The view from the lighthouse was only ok because of the...More

We took a bus downtown from El CID Marina (Sabalo Centro - green bus). I think it was about 11 pesos each.. It takes you close enough to the START of the hike to El Faro. Ask the bus driver to let you off at El Faro. It... More
