Playa Olas Altas is Waikiki without any of the foo-faw. There are only a handful of restaurants, all very cool. You'll find a few banks here. But the beach and the view you will not find anywhere else. Throw in some stellar architecture at Claussen 101, a few amazing monuments on the malecon, the most creative saltwater waterslide you're likely... More

This is the original tourist area in Mazatlan. It still exhibits that character in many of its venues. My favorite hotel is here .... Posada Freeman, and one of the most durable local bars, Puerto Viajo. It's walking distance to the Plaza Machado.

Swim, surf, boogie board & suntan. Lots of shops, bars and cafes along the street to grab a drink and a snack if you want to get outta the sun for a bit. Walk along the malecon and check out the statues. Great place

This nice stretch of beach is not too rough for swimming and is on the maelecon, but across the main beach road from hotels etc. What I like about it is that it has a number of palapa restaurants still on it, serving traditional and affordable Mexican fare.

Beautifula nd safe concept for those wanting to take a dip in the ocean without being exposed to sea creatures. Statues along the walkway are incredible with great views, Just below cliff diing area

There's no better spot to enjoy the water activity than on Olas Altas in Centro HIstorico Mazatlan. Boogie boarders, surfers, swimmers and sun worshipers all know this is the place to be. If the waters are calm swimmers head out...if the waters are a little rougher that's when the boards appear with both young and old alike trying to master... More

The locals resisted the temptation to put up jetties and reefs to ensure the perfect beach, and what they got in return is a wonderful, perfectly natural beach that looks a bit different depending on the time-of-year and tides. The way is is supposed to be. The sand is great, and one can easily do a bit of daily swimming.... More
