Very interesting and well kept archeological site. Beautiful combination of history and nature. It takes around 2 hours to do the whole walk (without a guide, which is not really needed because there are a lot of signs) and the museum is small but has very nice pieces. At the top of the pathway there is an incredible view of the ocean and river.
Recommend wearing light clothes and taking water and bug repellent.

First - take water or you can buy some at the entrance. This park is very well done with clean bathrooms, ticket office and a good museum. You can also hire a guide to take you through. The park is really wonderful. They are still restoring the ruins but there are very nice and wide walkways that weave around the ruins and take you literally into the jungle. Butterflies everywhere and if you take the path to the mirador you will find (after climbing up, there is a ruin at the top--Tulum is not the only ruins that is on the ocean). It is hot so wear a hat. You won't believe the view. The Copalita river comes into the Pacific. The climb with lookouts is hard but well worth it.

If you are interested in nature, birds, Mexican culture and history this is the place to go. The Eco-Archaeological Park Copaita is huge 200.50 acres park. We took a taxi from our secret resort. You can also walk about 25-30 minutes to get there.
but we recommend to use taxi because of the heat. There are English & Spanish tour guide. We wanted to go own pace so we didn’t hire them.
The view from Del Rio is breathtaking! Depends on your pace but you will get good 1:30-2hours beautiful nature walk.
You will find many interesting tree and flowers. Even though mostly shade it, it’s very hot so you need a bottle of water. I wish I could read Spanish because there is no English translation in the museum.
I highly recommend this beautiful and educational place🦋

Mario was our guide, and hiring him was well worth the money. We have since been to other larger archeological sites in Oaxaca but we learned and appreciated far more with him.

This Park is trying to accomplish two things at the same time-
1) Archaeological site- The different uncovered structures are well marked in both English and Spanish and signs discuss the details about them. You can see that they're continuing to uncover more and more of the ruins but even at my time of visit there was enough to see and look at.
I don't think the $55 USD tour guide is worth it as you can get most all of the archaeological information in English from the signs.
2) Ecological park- The trails wind around and take you across multiple ecosystems where you can uncover different birds and animals and views.

Interesting walk through the site---lots of walking---many park helpers to explain the temple and ball courts. About four sites in the park to see--then take path up to the high point and overlook the ocean

I would definitely recommend this to people who are interested in history of indigenous cultures and also the history of Mexico in general. I was fascinated that the park wasn't quite finished because they are still in the process of excavating. Even so, we had a day full of hiking around the beautiful paths that lead to cliff overlooking a gorgeous view of the ocean. The paths were well-labeled and the staff was really kind and helpful. We can't wait to come back and experience more of the mysterious ruins!

Much investment in this park makes it a first class attraction. We had an English speaking guide that made it a great experience for understanding the cultures and history of the area. Unparalleled view of the bay from the top.

This lovely site is a little south of huatulco and is a nice change from laying on the beach. There is a wonderful new modern building that gives you a nice perspective on ancient times in the area. Unfortunately everything written is in Spanish. Next walk through the woods to the various archeological sites which are still in development. The good news is the plaques are in Spanish and English. Next walk further to the viewpoint over the gorgeous beach. It's a nice walk and fabulous view.
The entrance price is a bit high compared to other more developed sites. Approximately $10

Worth the walk to the ocean view point, BUT all Museums closed, all archeological sites closed and told no pictures, some paths closed, entry price the same. A disappointment.
