My 16 year old daughter really wanted to try this out. We were not disappointed! Jane was a fantastic teacher and shared some very interesting information on the area, some history, and the local culture. Her "classroom" which is outside of Huatulco was a pleasant mini sightseeing tour. The food that we cooked was amazing and both my daughter and... More

We got in late Tuesday and booked the mole class Wednesday morning... We questioned this decision, but boy are we glad we did this day 1 of our vacation!!! Pick-up from our hotel at 9am, by a lovely driver from the village; arrived to the class and it was incredible. We learned so much about moles ( cooked 2 of... More

This was the only activity that we knew we were going to do when we got to Hualtulco, We enjoyed the cooking class very much - instructor was so knowledgeable and explained why as well as how to prepare. I appreciated very much the local knowledge, the customs, the culture. The food was easy to prepare and it was a... More

We actually started our first morning in Huatulco by heading out to visit Jane and cook some mole. (Yes, over the beach!) Her classroom is in a quaint town about thirty minutes out of town by a river. (The taxi ride she'd arranged was actually interesting unto itself we got to see more of the area.) While I don't normally... More

We wanted to do something special for our last night in Huatulco. Our evening at Chiles & Chocolate Cooking Class was the perfect choice! We were picked up promptly at our condo for the scenic drive to the Friday night Village-to-Table dinner, in a small town about 30 minutes from Tangolunda. We were warmly greeted by Jane, the owner, and... More

My husband and I attended the Thursday Fiesta class and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This was our 4th cooking class during our travels and we stilled learned a lot of new things! In this class, we made tamales filled with beef and veggies, empanadas filled with poblana peppers, black beans, nopales, and cheese, jicama salad with peppers, cucumbers and oranges, and... More

We had a wonderful morning with Jane! From the moment we were picked up at our resort until our return I felt Jane looked after our every concern and question. The recipes were fantastic; tamales, enchiladas, rum horchata (which Jane correctly did not make as sweet as the ones I tasted at the resort - hers was much more refreshing!)... More

What a great experience. Jane is a friendly and gracious host. Her cooking classes are filled with many many tips on Mexican as well as Canadian cooking. Her knowledge of Mexican culture and cooking is vast. The location of her class is beautiful. A really enjoyable time.

Enjoyed learning how to make (and eat!) authentic Mexican food. All the food was delicious but the vegetarian tomales turned out to be my favourite! Learned a lot about the local community as well, which Jane is very much a part of, you'll enjoy her stories.
