Spent an hour at Maguey Bay on a boat excursion. The snorkeling was very good. Managed to catch a glimpse of a large sting ray. Worth the trip!

Our boat captain stopped here to pick up some fins for one of our party for our morning of snorkeling. Good price and they delivered the equipment right to our boat.

Great beach for snorkeling. The restaurant we wet to for lunch had great shrimp dishes./ Large portions but pricey.

Playa Maguey has become one of my favorite beaches. Clear water, a little bit of a wave, not crowded if you don't go on the weekend. I don't like being hustled the second I step out of the cab, but if you say where you are going, they leave you alone. El Costeno (to the right as you are coming... More

Beautiful reef here. Accessible by beach or boat. No current at all. Areas are all buoyed off so you are in no danger of boats running you over Tons of life. Quick trip out of town. Take drinks and food with you. Prepare to spend the day. Take an umbrella if you have access to one.

Lots of small and medium size crafts come here with turists for lunch, is nice, but could get busy, still free umbrellas and long chairs with purchase of food or drinks.

Nice beach but way too crowded for me. We took a cab there and when we arrived there were three locals opening our door only to hound us. "Come to my restaurant, it's nice, it's quiet"...... We arrived around 10:30 and by noon it was packed full of boats - literally right in front of us.....yes, I love the smell... More

Visited El Zarape Restaurant on Maguey beach on 3/09/2017. Greeted by the owner Abel Ortega as we arrived by taxi. Led us down the stairs to his place. Spent 4 wonderful hours there. Had drinks, great food and fine conversation with Abel. He is very proud to fly the US flag over his restaurant. We will be back next year.... More
