WIth a privilege location, right in front of LA CALETA (local beach) this beautiful island is the destination of many who are trying to avoid the crow of the beach. It is a short trip. The cost is 50 pesos. You will go with many locals… many….

We visited in April, with our children, because we wanted to snorkel with the kids. Soon after getting in the water my 6 year old daughter was stung several times by jellyfish and we were unable to stay in the water. We later noticed many others complaining from being stung, especially young children. The beach filled up quickly with many... More

It was listed as a difficulty level 2 however I think it was a bit more strenuous and would rate it a level 3. The trip involved about 45 min of continues paddling in a... More

There are some nice paved walking trails around the island leading to some secluded beaches (east of the main beach) and also up to the light house (one can walk up to the top inside the lighthouse, but be very careful as a few of the steps are unstable). Walks are hilly but not difficult with very scenic overlooks. We... More

They rent the chairs and tables and sell food. You can take snacks and drinks and just rent the chairs for... More

Be sure to take your own food and water. Enjoy snorkeling, wading, swimming, paddle boarding and other activities on a beach a little more protected from the ocean waves.

We took a glass bottom boat from the Boca Chica Hotel over to Isla La Roqueta. We climbed up to the lighthouse, and there we were able to enjoy the most amazing view of the city! It was worth the uphill walk!
