I mean, it was neat to walk through, but it felt like they barely had anything there and the entire downstairs was closed off.
I believe they may have been between "shows" but I wish that would have been posted somewhere- we might have spent the day at the Mexican Heritage/History museum instead.

The museum itself has beautiful architecture and is worth a visit for that alone. We loved the provocative exhibits; as Americans, it was fascinating in particular to view several pieces addressing immigration by Mexican artists. We appreciated that almost every exhibit was by a Mexican native artist.

This is a great stop in concert with exploring the Barrio Antiguo!

We’ve visited this museum when was a gallery of Pedro Reyes which I really highly recommend both locals and visitors of Monterrey to visit this amazing art installations. The entrance fee might be 90 MXN but it really worth more than that if you are a fan of modern art.

Even at COVID-19 times, you can still enjoy art. Even I'm not a big fan of contemporary art, I really appreciate to have open places for culture at very reasonable prices.

MARCO is contemporary art museum located in downtown Monterrey. You can go to there for a fun, educating visit.
They currently have the Rafael Lozano Hemmer exhibition, and it was soo interesting and fun! The exhibition uses tons of technological devices, and interactive rooms. I would recommend you to take a camera (w/o flash, though), because taking pics/video is a must in that exhibit. I had a lot of fun and could have spent hours walking around.
I takes you about two to three hours to finish (properly) looking around the museum.

The main exhibit has each art piece explained in both English and Spanish.

The entry is free on Wednesdays!!!

Really interesting hoping to have all rooms available soon. There was a recicling subject on one room which has a big cord in the middle of a hall not placed safe so one person could fall down

marco Museum is very well located in Monterrey's downtown. Nearby some hotels and shopping areas.
I went with very low expectations as they only had one exhibition but this one was amazing!!!! I do not know if marco museum always have this quality of artist, but if you get to go soon, you can not miss Rafael Lozano-Hemmer exhibition. It was one of the best parts of my trip to Monterrey.
About the museum... I was bit dissapointed there was nothing else to see,

I'm not a big fan of most museums, but the exhibits here were particularly interesting. The museum is small, but well organized and has a very structured way to see the exhibits. The two that were there when we went were almost mind blowing, particularly the second one which was a mix of art and technology. I would assume that the exhibits are usually of the same quality and it's a quick 2 hour visit.

Very small.

Avoid if you don’t speak or read/write English well or have a local friend take you.

Guards are very rude and constantly barking directions that American tourist will not understand. They want you see thing in certain other because of the “rules” so you can’t back track.

They also block until you ask “properly” to let you continue.

As the title says, this is my favorite place in Monterrey and I would highly recommend it. They change their exhibits a lot so it is worth going every few months.
