This place is right on the main walking street that takes you from the border to downtown Tijuana. It’s worth stopping in if only for a few minutes. The admission was $1.50 US in February 2020 so even if you only spend 15 minutes you still get your money’s worth. There are various historical figures from Mexican history plus a selection of Mexican and US celebrities. Also a horror section. Most of the figures are well done but some are pretty poor, so there may be some laughs involved too. We loved it and it added to our Tijuana experience.

This museum is a great place to come to if you want to see important historical figures from Mexican history and legends. The wax dolls look realistic and the entrance fee is inexpensive. The only down side to this museum is that it is too small and unless you go with someone who knows of its existence, then you probably would not notice it.

It is a small-medium size wax museum, I found it while I was walking from San Diego, the ticket is cheap, and it is worth spending 30-60 minutes, and continue exploring the lovely Tijuana.
Note: if you love a little scare, you will love their horror/scary section.

Do not park here! There were two cars parked to the right of the entrance and an empty spot to the left that was definitely not marked for no parking (see photo.) The manager had my car towed and then denied that it was him that had called even though the police officer showed me the communication. He obviously has a deal with the tow company. It cost me close to $100 and two days running around Tijuana to get my car back. The guy is a crook and everyone knows it even the judge immediately reduced the fine to the absolute minimum when he heard the incident was at the Wax Museum. Unfortunately they could not do the same for the tow company who is surely splitting the revenue with this creep.

Located on Calle Primera just after you cross Avenida Francisco Madero is the Wax Museum. Walk up and into the lobby to the desk and pay the admission, 25 pesos or $1.50US.

We turned around and headed in and were immediately in a Mexican history section with was figures depicting several figures from early Mexican history, including a human sacrifice.

As we continued on we passed several figures of Mexican and World history, new and popular culture. There is also a horror/Halloween section with mythical characters.

Some are good, Vicente Fox and Carlos Santana. Some are bad, Bill Cosby and Sylvester Stallone. But, all in all this is a great place to stop for an hour or 2.

BTW, Stallone is missing his left hand.

This museum is on the Liberty Path from the US border, midway before the arch and Ave. Revo.

It's a small museum, not worth making a trip for itself. Sadly after 200, the passport requirement and news of high homicide rate every year due to the drug war, not too many Americans cross over to peruse shops and trinket carts. This Liberty Path, the shopping plazas and the Mercado de Artesania next to it, have very few visitors during weekend, virtually deserted day and night.

This area is a high crime area and can be dangerous when it's dark. You can park at the Malls of America, walk over via Ped West and walk the path on the way to Ave Revo.

If you can find the time, take it! This is a great value for the money. With pictures from the 1920's of Old Tijuana, along with wax figures of international fame, it is both historic and humorous. Men, women, and children will all enjoy themselves with the various wax figures and exhibits.

There is a "Chamber Of Horrors" exhibit that may be a bit much for the "faint of heart", but most folks will find it fun, perhaps even laughable!

Not only do I recommend it, but I will go again myself the next time I'm in town. Taco Bell (no relation to the American fast-food chain) is across the walkway from the museum and I highly recommend eating there either before, or after, your visit.

This location has been a tourist draw for decades. The cost of admission is super cheap and great place to take some time off the beaten path. It is just a short walk from revolution and worth the trip. There are some souvenir shops on the way. The wax figures are a little dated but provide some extensive historical and cultural figures from US and Mexican history. There are US and Mexican music figures. They even have a horror section for some further enjoyment. Again, great distraction from the regular Tijuana tourist paths.
