The Malecon is a very wide walkway along the beach in La Paz. There are many sculptures and a wonderful view. Walking along it was very enjoyable. On the side away from the water there is a street lined with many businesses, including a lot...More

We've been to many piers along the west coast of Mexico, but thoroughly enjoyed the Malecon in La Paz. Extremely relaxing to stroll the path alongside the water. Beautiful art to view and friendly locals made for great walks throughout the day. Especially fun at...More

We only had a couple of hours in La Paz. This is not your typical touristy town with huge resorts. It's smaller with boutique type hotels in town. The area along the ocean is beautiful, with tour boats, statues, and other pieces of art. Might...More

The Malecon is filled with impressive art. It was the destination for Ernest Hemmingway who wrote "The Pearl" and "Old Man and the Sea" that were inspired by La Paz.

After having a big meal, it's a great place to walk off those calories. Many Mexican families walk at 7pm. It starts cooling down. Only the gringo's walk in the heat of the day.

Great place to stroll morning, afternoon or evening to take in sights along the waterfront. Plenty to see and do-- restaurants, shops, music, water activity, etc. Nice place to watch beautiful sunsets too!

All you need in shops, beach, restaurants, seaview and beautiful sculptures. Will get quite lively as night falls. For hairdressers, local shops and manicure, go a street or two back.

Noisy, touristy but very pleasant. The walk along the coast. Is scattered with art, playgrounds, restaurants and bars. More Mexican tourists than Americans. We felt very safe with the federales on patrol.

The Malecon is used by everyone. It has many restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors and gift stores along it. Stop for a drink and someone you have met before will stop and say hi. Very friendly place.

This malecon goes on forever overlooking the turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortez. Very clean and lovely sculptures along the way.

The Hotel Blue is where we stayed, the room was very reasonable and included breakfast. It was a couple of blocks from the Malecon. If you are looking for a tour operator, I can highly recommend VIP. Enjoy!
Hi, someone wrote the beaches were an hour away. We are beach bums and stay there all day. Is the Malecon good for that? Thanks, Mary Ann

Balandra Beach--our favourite--less than half an hour from la Paz by car. Other beeches right in the city, at either end of Malecon.
What street is the Malecon bus station on?
