Nice place to spend an afternoon and evening.

Lots of small shops and bars for an afternoon relax and a couple of Margaritas. Especially Cantina Hussong's is worth a visit in the evening.

Walked one end to the other and didn't find a singe store of true interest. Couple of ATM machines that you might need in a pinch

Main downtown strip where all the cruise ship touristas go. A few decent restaurants, and blocks and blocks of the SAME blankets, tee shirts, leather beer can holders and souvenirs. Been there. Done that

I asked my friend to take us here to Avenida Ruiz. He told me cruise ships weren’t there so it would be dead. He said he’d take us when the cruise ships docked. It was a vast difference in the area. With or without the cruise ships, this street really didn’t have it happening.

There were a lot of travelers in the area, which made for a pretty rowdy scene. I think you should be careful in them, they probably water down the drinks and my credit card was stolen out of my purse somehow. Just be on your guard.

Ruiz is more of a local street and not geared towards the tourists. One the first block between 1st and 2nd street is worth visiting. That is where you will find the bigger clubs and also Hussongs the oldest bar in the Baja. From 2nd to 5th street are stores for locals like clothing, shoes, eyeglass shops, and things like... More

This is where the cruise ship shuttle drops you off to either go on a local tour or to walk around downtown Ensenada. The best bathroom stops I ever have in a tourist spot in Mexico. There are shops and drinks close by.

We walked up and down around Avenida Ruiz--very interesting! So many, many Mexican people and so many, many "tourists."

Walking down this street is difficult because the merchants are out in full force trying to get you inside to buy. You can't just walk down it casually without being harassed. They are at times rude and not very nice if you don't go into their shop. I heard a few not so nice comments if you decline.
