Everything you look for on one street. From restaurants, bars to cute little coffee shops, tattoo shops and souvenir stores. I recommend going in the evening, maybe walk around a little bit and catch the night lights. It is quite the experience.

Beggars of all ages. Overpriced goods (junk) with aggressive vendors. Unfair exchange rates and hidden charges in the restaurants.

Visited today on a day trip from our cruise ship. We saw on Tripadvisor that First Street was only about three fourths of a mile from the cruise port and had planned on walking, but they had buses lined up to take visitors to First Street, $2 to get there and $1 to come back to the cruise ship. It... More

On a Californian Coastal cruise we visited Ensenada. Our day was long, full and busy! We had never been to Ensenada before so we're full of anticipation and quite excited. Our tour guide took us to see some old buildings that had significance locally but did not impress me much. There was no signage anywhere; no people inside this large... More

Although many refer to this as first street it is actually Lopez Mateos and is the tourist district (actual downtown or Centro is 5 blocks) away lots of shops, bars and restaurants and all types of food. Most people in this area speak English, but if you speak Spanish so much the better, do go to an ATM and get... More

I had my expectations but the street is fully of very low level souvenir stores, in fact the worst I have ever seen. I collect magnets from my trips and I struggled a lot to find one, quite lousy and cost me 5 US as if I were in DC. sad and poor. i would not dare walking there by... More

This is a great area to meander and check out some of the great silver jewelry Mexico is famous for. There are also lots of boutiques that offer modern pieces that are unique and make great gifts or statement pieces for yourself. My two favorite boutiques were Bulldog and one inside the restaurant Rey del Sol. Bulldog offers ver contemporary... More

Great nightlife at 1st Street with bars, restaurants and clubs along it. It’s not really long but many places to relax and have a drink. During the day, souvenir stores are open but be ready for the salespeople to be all up in your face.
