This was one of the first stop on a four island private tour o a longboat. Utter bliss, Very few people when we got there and we could spend as much time as we wanted, No rushing off with a group.
This was two little islands separated by a sandbar. You could walk from one end to the other. The water was clear as expected and it was shallow so you could walk out a bit. The beauty of the place has to be seen to be believed.

I had that the beaches of Krabi were splendid but this seeing this beach made thoie words look like an understatement. I loved the beach, the view and the amazing walk across the water in times of low tide. Simply amazing and must visit!!!

It’s pretty. Saw as part of island hop tour. Had thought of going independently by glad we didn’t as very little there. Main attraction is at low tide you see the sand banks that join the islands. Good for a photo opportunity that’s all really

Tup Island is connected to Chicken Island by a small sandy causeway which can be walked across at low tide. Low tide when we visited was at 06:30AM / 18:00 so unfortunately we missed it on this visit, although on a previous visit I did walk across.
To really appreciate this place and its worth noting this down, go as early in the morning as you can. It is very popular and very beautiful, even more so where your there with just a few people or so. When several hundred people are there, less so.
The water is bath water warm and clean. Snorkelling is a must, you cannot appreciate how many different types of fish are invisible from the boats. There are green and blue ones but also a lot of mini goldfish, which if you have an underwater camera, would be a great background for your home PC or Mac.
Well worth a visit, best advice, take a longtail boat as you can do the 4 island tour, Chicken Island, Pado Island, Tup Island and Railey Beach.
Downside: You are expected to pay an additional 200 THB per person because you are in National Park. This is not included in your boat arrangement, once paid, tell them to give the ticket to the boat captain otherwise, they will try to charge you 200 THB per island or until you wise up to it.

We visited Tup Island on the Green Planet's Four Islands day trip on a longtail boat with 22 others while staying in Ao Nang. We’d requested a tour company with a small number of small boats (apparently some tour operators have boats that take up to a hundred people at a time, a situation which did not seem all that appealing). At the harbour, we, along with all the other people from all the other tours, clambered into our respective boats and headed for open waters.
Our first island was Tup, one of the limestone spears rising out of the green sea, visible from Ao Nang Beach. As we pulled up to the strip of soft white sand we could see people – lots of people – and boats, lots of boats, both speedboats and longtails. Tup, and Chicken Island, its neighbour, are joined by an isthmus which can be walked across through the water at low tide, a walk which we proceeded to do. The water was a beautiful turquoise-emerald and very warm, home to small green and yellow striped fish who clustered near the rocks at the edge of the beach. Many of the tourists simply sunbathed on the beach, others took advantage of the cantines set up in the shade of the trees to down beers, while others strode through the hip-deep water to reach Chicken Island. After an hour of trucking around the beach, we were back in the boat and motored to a spot just off Chicken Island for snorkelling, along with ten or so other boats. We swam around for a bit but it became evident that all the coral here is grey and dead; although there are some fish, they likely only come here because the tour operators feed them.
We enjoyed our day at sea, but were a little surprised at the sheer number of boats and people at every place we stopped – these are not exactly deserted tropical islands. But, for 450 baht, or about $10 each for the day, the tour was good value. If it's ever possible to get to this island when there are few people around, it would be rated a 5/5; as it is, with too many visitors and boats, I can only give it a 3.

Tup Island was the very first stop made on our 5 Islands tour which was organized by Pranang Travel & Tour which cost 400 Bath and unbelievable!
Clear water, White sand and a long sand bed connecting 2 islands….. It is so beautiful!
Paradise indeed!.
The other stops on the tours, were at Chicken Island, Snorkeling at Koh Si, Lunch stop at Poda Island and Phranang Beach.
A must visit! PS: do not forget your sun block lotion : )

the tour operator will charge you extra 200 baht to this island. This is such a small island. I estimate about 30 meter across in diameter. It was full of tourist with a small piece of sand bar and there is nothing to see or any WOW factor (1 to 10 i will give it a one). go to some other island unless it is part of the so-called 7 island tour. many of the passengers in the same boat that accomodate 50 passenger did not pay the 200 baht (about USD$5.70) did not pay and no one check or needed a ticket. It is extremely overrated as a national park. This is a rip off by the tour operator. You will be disappointed if you trip only go to this small island (like 2 football field court size) alone.

This is from one the famous songs in the bollywood movie kaho na pyaar hai. The island is very beautiful with oceans on both side. However the beach will be very crowded as it is very popular.

Sweet & picturesque island with clear turquoise water and depending what time you get there a sand bar through the middle. This was our first stop on a 4 island boat trip, when we reached here it was very crowded with people and boats, it would have been wonderful if it was less busy but still stunningly beautiful and worth stopping for. Water is warm and you can see many fish especially if you swim out more and away for the crowds.

Szeretném tudni, hogy a Hong sziget és a Phra nang cave benne van-e a kirándulásban, és mennyibe kerül fejenként. 4-en megyünk.

Hi, can anyone please advise those tour agencies which has the 4 island and hong island tours combined and how much cost for that? Actually I want to take the full day tour for both hong and 4 Islands(Poda, Chicken, Tup & Phra nang)tour as compared to taking both tours on separate days. We are couple and budget traveller. So I can not afford 15000 baht spending for 2 person(private boat). We have no problem to share and we want this trip by long tail boat. So please help me with tour operators name and cost. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am planning for a trip to Thailand in November . I am confused about 4/7 island. Please let me know
1. Which trip is better - 4 island or 7 island sunset tour?
2. Timings of both tour.
3. We are 2 person. We have no problem with sharing with 4-6 people. What will be approx cost for a trip to 4/7 island tour in a long tail boat sharing basis?
4. From where I can book for that? Please share if anyone has any reliable agent's contact details.
5. Lunch menu's
6. 400 thb pay to national park is mandatory? (we will not do any kind of water activities like snorkeling, swimming etc)

Hi Tamasree,
Pl find my replies to your queries:
1) 4 island is better because you can spend quality time on each one. All islands are not very different from each other. However if you start early in the morning you can do 7 island but it will be tiring. I would go for 4 island.
2) 4 island is around 6 hours and 7 islands is around 9 hours
3) cost is 2500thb but sharing will be cheaper. There are lot of agents on right in front of each you have govt kiosks as well to check the prices. Generally the agent at corner of boarding point is quite reliable.
4) lunch is on your own. However at the caves point there is a restaurant where you can eat.
5) yes 400thb is mandatory but I feel you can negotiate that with the boat guy because you don't get a receipt for that hence my feel is it remains with boat guy.

Hi Helz. We are going to Krabi in March. Any tips about tours would be appreciated, we'd like to take in Tup Island. Kind regards, Dave.

We used Castaway tours to book our private long boat. The operator, Big, was great. He brought us to the four islands earlier than the crowds arrived, and also docked away from the busier areas. He served fresh fruit in the morning and cooked us an amazing lunch, including a whole fish that he caught himself.
