It's right on the center of Hu county. It has 600 years history. In 1950s, it was the government office. In the past, the gates on the ground floor were open for transport. Flea market is around the tower now.

My friend and I stumbled across the Bell Tower while we are walking around Xi'an City at night. Located near the Drum Tower, it looks magnificent with the bright lights emitting from it and certainly stand out from the other malls and buildings surrounding it. We didn't enter it though.

It is not worthwhile to pay for entrance fee, but u can take photo from the opposite road. The sightseeing at night will be more beautiful, as lighting will around the building! U can walk from the bell building from there, just 5-10 mins.

Drum Tower will stay in your memory but Bell Tower should be looked at from the outside. Not worth paying the entrance fee of any kind. What may be of some interest is Bell Tower Tea House where the commercialized Chinese style tea presentations are performed with immediate channeling into the gift shop naturally.

I was so impressed when I first saw it at night when I arrived in Xi'an that this was the first attraction to visit the next morning. A bit of a 'let down' though. Nice views from there but nothing much really. As most of the reviewers say, the Drum Tower is much more interesting.

I think that most other reviewers got this one pegged. This is nice to look at, but not as nice to look from. The Drum Tower is better. Though if you are one of those people who feel compelled to ram a log into a big bell for a small fee, then this is your place.

The bell tower is interesting for a shot from outside but inside having to pay for ringing the bell, getting a photo of the smog is not worth the entrance fee. There is nothing inside the building of interest either.

I think our visit might have been enhanced if we were there when they had a little show inside (playing Chinese bells and instruments). Before you buy your ticket, there is a sign at the ticket window with the times of the shows. During lunchtime, there are no shows for a few hours. Other than that though, it was mainly... More

The Bell Tower is situated on a roundabout at the intersection of four busy streets, surrounded by shopping centres and the like so we nearly gave it a miss. I'm glad we didn't so dive through the subway, pay your entrance fee and climb the steps of the tower. Not only do you get great views of the city, but... More
