This small shop is just past Haleakala NP, and so worth visiting. The fruit sampler is a must to try new and exotic fruits, and they also offer coffee, teas and other snacks. Marley explained each fruit in our sampler and is passionate about the farm. There is a short trail to experience the farm, and lovely seating areas to enjoy your snacks - we highly recommend stopping for a few minutes and sampling whatever is fresh! This stop was the highlight of our day! Mahalo, Marley!

The fruit stand at Laulima Farm was our local coffee shop and gathering place while we were staying in Kipahulu. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they had lots of fresh fruit and other goodies! Don't forget to bring cash. They also allow you to walk around the grounds for a beautiful view of the lower portion of their gardens. It was such a magical experience. I think we went there every day during our vacation. Be sure to give yourself enough time to enjoy yourself. Their freshly grown and roasted coffee is delicious and well worth the extra wait.

We stopped here while hiking nearby. Before we reached trailhead, we stopped here and picked up some fresh fruits, vegies and had freshly brewed coffee. Everything, including the coffee, is grown at their place. Neat little establishment run by younger couple living of their land and selling what they can. While we were there, it appeared that there were more locals actually stopping by than tourists. There is a sign at the road, but you still almost miss it. Hang out of a while in the shade of the banana trees, enjoy some hot coffee and forget that you have to soon move on. While definately not cheap, it is reasonable for Maui and especially considering where they're located and the quality of everything they have.

On a recent trip to Maui, my husband and I decided to drive past Hana and hit some of the little less touristy stops described to us in our "Maui Revealed" guidebook. Laulima Farm was at the top of my list, I was so intrigues by the idea of stopping at a real local farm and fruit stand and going someplace a little less crowded and off the beaten path.
Immediately when you drive up you feel and remember you are not at home and you are definitely on an island. The fruit stand is not your typical "thrown together to attract tourists" stand" it resembles a little farm house, it is a beautiful green and when you walk up you feel like you are walking into a friendly and welcoming environment. When we walked in there were a couple of other people there who were having freshly popped popcorn. I was offered a cup of coffee from the coffee beans taken from their farm and I with a huge smile jumped at the chance to try a fresh cup of really fresh and just picked coffee. My husband opted for a squeezed juice from some tangelos that were taken right off their farm. I also looked through the produce out in the baskets and grabbed a couple that I either had not heard of, or had not tried before. After our drinks were ready we were told we were welcome to explore the farm and the land. We took our drinks and walked through some of the area and explored with our camera and felt very welcomed and at peace as we valued and appreciated the land and the products. After our drinks we popped back in to say thank you and even now I look back at this short stop as a real experience with the culture and the way of life on this side of the island.

Our first experience at Laulima Farm was an amazing, magical experience. After white knuckling our counter-clockwise trip on the road to Hana, we stopped by the farm and were greeted warmly, as if in the kitchen of an old friend. A beautiful plate of organic fruit was made for us by one of the owners. She was so excited to give us a unique, restful experience and to share with us things we had never tasted before. The strawberry papaya was amazing and the banana muffin the best I have ever tasted. We loved the experience so much, we decided we would come back another day when we had time to go around the entire road to Hana. We were so looking forward to reaching the farm after our long drive. I loved the bamboo t-shirts and was planning to buy one for each of my 3 daughters. When we returned, we had the opposite experience with a different person. She seemed irritated, pompous and was annoyed with my husband's questions about the farm. She was the only rude person we encountered on the island. She seemed annoyed when I asked for a napkin for our fruit plate. She made me aware that she had just folded and separated the t-shirts by gender as I was looking for my daughters sizes. After no longer feeling comfortable, I decided against buying the t-shirts as well as other items as this was no longer a experience worth remembering on the island. I still recommend this stop, it's so worth it if the right person is working.

$32 bought us four cups of coffee, two glasses of OJ, and a few pieces of fruit. The coffee was excellent and the place was unique. Didn't stop in the next time I drove by.

Get the fruit plate - every single thing is delicious!! We ate up every bite and then bought some more fantastic apple-bananas and liliko'i for the road. Try to snag a seat at the super-cool hand-carved table inside the bamboo grove - it's magical!

We discovered this place in a guidebook so we stopped here during our stay in Hana after visiting Haleakula National Park in April. They had a huge variety of novel tropical fruits for sale and growing on trees, some of which we had never seen before, all at a reasonable price. Some free samples were provided to taste. They had a number of snacks available in addition to the fruit. We bought a few of their delicious apple bananas which were 3 for a $1. I also had an excellent freshly brewed cup of coffee prepared from beans grown on their property - not to be missed! While I was enjoying the coffee, we took a stroll on their very interesting self-guided walk where we saw all kinds of exotic trees and plants in addition to a bunch of pineapple plants. Unlike one of the other reviewers, we were not bothered by any mosquitoes and didn't use insect repellent.
