You can still visit the place and see from outside. The stores outside are still open, but the main temple area is under renovation and can't go inside.

The temple is in renovation for past month or so and no idea when it will be completed. So no point going there as you cannot see anything till renovation is done

The main temple was closed for renovations. However we could walk around outside. There is a small shop with Buddhist curios n collectibles.

I don't know about nearby places to monastery but you can take home stay at girinivas residency google the details it's best for family of 4. 2 km from bus stand.
