Visited the museum and was able to see many pieces of island art, from paintings to hand crafted straw designs. A great way to see the culture and experience the essence of the native people.

We stopped here on our way down the island. It is very quaint and informative. The building is lovely. The lady watching the museum was very gracious and appreciative of the donations. It has a nice little gift area. I wish I had purchased more Christmas ornaments there. They were very reasonable and there are not many shops on the... More

A little museum that documents Island life on Ling Island through the ages. For a pretty much isolated place they have done a good job to put the museum together . There is a gift shop with a few books and Island crafts and locally collected salt which was a nice touch

Covering the history of Long Island, a stop here is a must. The displays are excellently presented. The staff well informed and very friendly. There is also a small gift shop that has a remarkable selection of island goods.

It will give you a flavor of island life from another era. Buy the book by Evans Cottman "Out Island Doctor. An autobiography of his life in the out islands.

This is a must do on your tour of the island. The museum is right off the main highway in Buckleys. The exhibits are very cool and there's a well-stocked gift shop. The nice young lady who works there even gave us a great land crab recipe! You can also pick up a copy of the Bahamian Calendar who's original... More
