Went there and find out the admission price is overprice and we walking around- not enough information while self tour and their stairs considering dangerous cuz too steep. View on the water wasn't great because I counted 16 oil rigs was on the water (remind me of deepwater horizon disaster). But the gift shop was nice and found few things... More

Amazing history in an amazing location. This place is quite a gem. The old fort and surrounding grounds take about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs to tour. It is self guided so you can spend as much time as you like. The old fort still stands and gives you a great peak into what a civil war era. A must... More

Very cool historic site! Wide open spaces for the kids to run around. Lots of unique areas of the fort to explore. Plus just $18 for family of four.

We enjoyed walking through history, reading the brochure and gazing out to sea. We arrived close to closing time and were able to see most things in the thirty minutes we had. An hour would have been better and a picnic with time to sit down and read the information would have helped me absorb the history. This site has... More

I enjoyed learning about the Fort and the historical significance it played in Alabama. It is not as important as the Mobile Fort or Pensacola, but the tour guide was very interesting. He gave an interesting, historical, and educational tour with the help of two volunteers. The Fort is one the water and the view is fantastic. The Fort was... More

For this Fort to have seen its fair share of hurricanes and still be in it's original state is amazing. We loved all the history. Rumored to be haunted- the boys got a big thrill out of scaring their younger sister. We loved it! We had a nice meal on the way there. We will definitely go back.
