Nice afternoon out

Went there with the family, had a great day out. Spent about 2 hours there. There's also a cafe nearby.

Having passed by many times when traveling along the A40 we made the effort to visit. What an enjoyable surprise! This is more than just a ruined castle (Cromwell has a lot to answer for!). It has lots of rooms and points of interest. Great for children who like to explore and the history is well explained for adults. Staff... More

My partner and I spent a couple of hours on this visit. We arrived mid morning and paid £6 each to enter, free to park the car and could park close to the entrance I don't think this attraction would be any good for a wheelchair or with a buggy as the whole site is rough ground and steps everywhere... We visited the castle on 31st December. It was a very foggy day as you can see from the photo but we still had a great time! The price was incredibly good for the castle bearing in mind we were in there for about 2 hours! There are lots of things to read and things to entertain the children. Great... More

This was a delight to see and loved the entire history. Would recommend to everyone. We spent a wonderful afternoon strolling around and enjoying the history. Thank you to Wales for preserving this piece of history.

We visited Raglan castle over the Christmas break with our 5 year old. It was a lovely couple of hours spent. It was relatively cheap to get in. There are plenty of information signs throughout the site that give you a very thorough understanding of the history of the castle. There are areas that are grassed that were quite muddy... More

Having visited Goodrich Castle (approx. 20 minutes drive away) in the morning, we headed for Raglan Castle in the afternoon. The contrast between the 2 is plain to see, as Raglan is all about status rather than defence. It's an opulent showpiece of a home that was built to show off the owner's wealth and what a good job they... More

This is a wonderful Castle to visit. It's fairly easy to find right off of the motorway. There is limited parking. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The castle itself is very pretty and you will enjoy walking the grounds and lovely views. It is best to visit during a clear day. I recommend you wear waterproof shoes/boots as it... More

This is one of the most beautiful castles I have ever visited. The gatehouse is a very memorable design and the interior decorations and carvings give a hint of what a magnificent palace it must have been. You can do a circuit of the castle and climb the main tower for views. Several of the rooms have exhibits in them... More

Visited this castle several times, you can really imagine what the rooms were like with the descriptions available , there a cafe just around the corner at the old stables with superior tasting food and a reasonable price, would recommend this place over and over again
