- Cathy KMidlothian, Virginia373 contributionsCoco Plum: BEAUTIFUL !!!!!We stopped at Coco Plum Beach to swim and snorkel. The water was absolutely gorgeous, clear & aqua. The bottom was sandy and smooth. The entrance road had a huge mud puddle, about 15 feet across and wide. We were able to ride in the edge of it, next to the trees. There is no bathroom at this beach and the little beach restaurant was deserted.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 November 2023
- Jack_BHouston, Texas113 contributionsA Pristine Family BeachA pristine beach. Crystal clear water. No hotels, or any commercial restaurants, just one small shack with drinks and simple local cuisine. Miles of white sand, sand bars at low tide, and NO crowds. Caution: The access road is not marked (look for the blue and white trash barrel ) and is in very poor condition, especially after rain.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 December 2023

This beach is one. Highly recommend Coco Plums beach bar. Amazing food and drinks at marketable prices.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 January 2024

Instagram ruined this beach! The beach is absolutely littered with garbage from beer bottles to an old stove. I was nervous about removing my shoes since my tetanus is not up to date. Went at 7:00 am just before sunrise since low tide was at 6:30 but was eaten alive by bugs- bring bug spray if you are there in early am. You can walk endlessly in the water, but when you see this beach covered in garbage it just ruins it for me. The swing that was out in the water is not there a storm destroyed it. There are much nicer beaches in Exuma, it’s sad people have ruined this one. It’s shame the natural beauty has been destroyed

We went to the beach by Taxi from Sandals Emerald Bay. It was a very quick trip but we would not have wanted to drive ourselves are the roads are rough and everyone drives on the opposite side of the road than we are used to. Unfortunately, high tide was at a weird time when we were there so it was very late in the day when the water is no longer looking as vibrant blue. It was still pretty I just can imagine how amazing it would look midday.

We rented a car while staying at Sandals and loved Coco Plum so much we extended the rental car to visit 3 more times that week. Water is crystal clear and bath water warm. The sandbar stretches as far as the eye can see. It’s surreal to be able to walk a mile into the ocean in ankle deep water. Great place to find sand dollars!
The road leading to the beach is a little bumpy but completely navigable provided you drive carefully. There’s plenty of parking, but if you want somewhere to sit you’ll need to bring a chair or blanket. Unfortunately the Fyre Fest idiots left trash and debris on the beach, so that would be my only complaint. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Most incredible beach we have been to. Make sure you go early so you hit low tide. When it's low tide the sad bar goes far far out in to the water. Even after the tide rise a little you can still walk seemingly forever into the water. Great spot for lots of sand dollars.
Hard to find, in fact you will not believe your going in the right direction until you finally see the water. Look for blue dumpster by the highway.

We had a HARD time finding this place, but luckily it was worth the struggle. It is really a unique spot. We went about an hour after low tide and found dozens of sand dollars, neat shells and some starfish. The water is crystal clear and ankle deep as far as you can see. It is a great spot for all ages.

Coco Plum beach is so incredibly beautiful! As you drive on Queen’s Highway, past Rollevillle, there is a blue cement wall painted light blue. Turn on that road & drive down to the beach. The sand bars form at low tide but even at high tide you can see where the shallow water is.
The swings were taken down after some storms but even without them, you can spend a lot of time walking in the shallow water or looking for sand dollars (if they are brown please leave them alone bec they are still alive).
This became our favorite beach and it is a sight not to be missed!

This beach is a must see at low tide!!! We got there before the water receded and swam around & played in the beautiful blue water before the magic happened. At low tide, it exposes a beautiful HUGE sand bar that you can walk waaaaay out on to. The water at this point with the white sand is unreal!! Soooo BEAUTIFUL!! We found tons of sand dollars, & even some small white starfish, & there are swings in the water! Could have easily stayed here all day. My favorite beach on the island for sure!!

After a couple recommendations, we put a visit to Coco Plum on our agenda, and it was amazing! There was no sign for beach access and the drive to the parking area was an adventure avoiding the potholes, but these are my only complaints. The beach itself was absolutely breathtaking, and the water depth at low tide made for an extra special trip for our children. We ventured a couple hundred yards from the shore, never reaching water depths above the knees! Highly recommend this beach—pack a cooler and beach games and stay awhile!

Are there umbrellas or chairs for rent in this beach or any of the other beaches in Exuma? Or maybe one can buy there to use for the week? Wondering how much time you can spend on the beach’s without any shade.
Written 5 February 2022
There weren't any rental chairs when we were there in November. It wasn't very hot because of the breeze. Carry sunscreen and you'll be fine. I much prefer chairs but the beach was great and worth sitting in the sand. There are chairs for sale at the stores and most rentals have some. Enjoy.

I am heading to coco plum beach in about two weeks and have recently read the swings have been taken down, does anyone know if they rebuilt any swings or if another beach has similar swings?
Written 25 March 2021
Yes they are gone 😭 the cocoplum cottages have 1 swing and the sandals resort has 4.
Written 1 July 2021
Are the swings in the water still falling apart, or have they been fixed? I went there a few years ago, & they were in really bad shape.
Written 16 May 2020
Last time we were there, the swings were gone.

Hi there, we were at this beach in the past and I remember it being hard to find. Will be a heading there again soon and wondering if you have any easy directions to find it? Thanks!

Hey Rhonda, Coco plum is at the north end. It’s before Shoreline. Drive North past Sandals and Grand Isle. Past BigDs and lighthouse cafe. Veer left shortly after the lighthouse cafe while staying on the Queens highway. Coco plum is further up on your right...there were big blue dumpsters there marking the way. I think it’s the first dirt right after lighthouse cafe. It’s a long drive in .

Hello there are several hotels by CoCo Plum Beach, it is North of the Exuma Airport. Exuma Palms Hotel is very close and has a good price per night.

I know you can find sand dollars at Coco Plum Beach, but can you find starfish as well?
Written 7 December 2018
During lowtide we did find a few white small starfish. We found the largest red starfish off the beach and towards Jolly Hall beach just north of Splash restaurant at Hideaways.

Does anyone know how to get here from Nassau?
Written 27 November 2018
Fly with SkyBahamas or BahamasAir. A boat or ferry is not reliable and would also take all day.
