We booked this excursion a few months prior to our trip -1/2 day Big Game Fishing. Fishbones’s is located in Savannah Sound, just 20 minutes from where we stayed in Palmetto Point. Beautiful location. Sadly the seas were a bit rough - Captain Julius gave us the option of rescheduling if we wanted to. Weather was on its way in, but sunny skies for the morning- just rolling sea due to the wind. We decided to try, and so glad we did. Julius, his first mate, and his sweet young son accompanied our family of four. Great music and conversation the entire time. We trolled for Wahoo with no luck, but caught barracuda, Spanish Mackerel, and another type of fish (name has escaped me). The boys had fun reeling them in. We would definitely consider Fishbone’s for another fishing excursion if we return to Eleuthera!

Hello StaceyS89,
Not a bad day a all for a 1/2 day of fishing, you guys did an great job and it was a lot of fun hosting you!
Thank you for the beautiful review!
We are pleased that you thoroughly enjoyed your tour with us. It is always a privilege to take out couples and groups and show of the Eleuthera’s turquoise crystal calm waters.
We try our best to make each tour unique and special for our guest, and we hope that we left a mark on your heart. There is so much to explore and see in our beautiful Islands of the Bahamas. They say that Eleuthera is one of the most spectacular and we think so as well. We have 110 miles of shoreline and tons and tons of breath-taking beaches.
Beyond everything else Eleuthera has to offer there is nothing quite as amazing as experiencing the marine life and water activities. The waters around Windermere Island in particular are known for being mesmerizing. A natural spawning location for many fish and a place where a variety of turtles strive.
We hope that one day we will have the privilege to take you out on another one of our tours. Here is a list of tours that we offer: Snorkelling, bone fishing, reef fishing, bottom fishing, deep sea fishing, Eco-tour, Adventure Tour, sunset cruise and many more customized tours.
Thank you one again for choosing Fishbone Tours and we hope you enjoyed your time your stay in Eleuthera.
Sincerely,
Fishbone Tours Management

Captain Bubba and Chubby made our group of 6's boat trip an awesome experience that we will remember the rest of our lives. As soon as we got comfortable on the boat and cracked our first beers, he asked us what we were interested in seeing. He catered the entire afternoon around what we wanted to see and were most interested in. We explored the cove near Windermere Island and saw tons of turtles, sharks, fish and many other cool attractions in the area. I would recommend Fishbone Tours to anyone looking to spend a few hours on a boat with a cool captain and a stress free adventure.

We've been snorkeling and spearing fish/lobster in the Bahamas for years. This year, we came to Eleuthera since our normal spot in the Abacos is still recovering from Hurricane Dorian. Capt. Bubba and his mate Chubby gave us the best spearing experience we've ever had. Not only plentiful lobster and fish, but the most amazing turtle sanctuary and lemon shark nursery you could imagine. This was an amazing experience. Even my 11 yr old speared his first lobster. I've never felt compelled to leave a review on Trip Advisor for anyone or anything before, but I can't fail these guys. They are Bahama's best - the kind of guys that put themselves between your and a shark; the kind of guys that go far out of the way to give their guests the best experience; the kind of guys you'd welcome into your own home as true friends. They delivered big time. And, to make things even better, they will cook your fish and pour your drinks at their restaurant, Fishbone, located on idyllic Savannah Sound. Best Bahamas experience - Hands down. Thanks guys, you made our trip!! We'll come back to Eleuthera just to spear with you again.

Just book your tour now! Our group of 15 people did multiple island excursions, as well as previous boat tours on the island of Eleuthera in previous years Fishbone tours was HANDS DOWN everyone's favorite day. From the ambiance, to the drinks, to the carefully thought out and personally designed itinerary there is not a better excursion for you to partake. Julius and his crew went above and beyond to create an experience and capture memories of a lifetime. We will absolutely be returning. Ty ty ty!

The day we spent with Captain Bubba and Chubby was the highlight of our 2 weeks in Eleuthera. It was so much fun boating around Savannah sound and learning about the wildlife and snorkeling. Captain Bubba and Chubby even got us lobster and fish for dinner which we prepared and it was so fresh and delicious. As a bonus Captain Bubba serenaded us while we ate lunch after the tour. He even asked Dr. Seabreeze to come play at the restaurant the following evening so we could see him. It was a wonderful evening. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We really enjoyed everything!

Our group of 8 fishermen were taken out for a 4-hr fishing experience with Captain Julius and Chubby each captaining a boat. They advised us to change our outing to a later date to take advantage of better weather, calmer seas and increased visibility. They were 100% right!
We ended up catching 10 fish including several barracuda (one of them 4' long), mackerel and jax. Julius and Chubby were very efficient and kept the reels in the water at all times. Very engaging in conversation, great DJs, knew the water well and were very helpful with bating, gaffing and cleaning the fish. Really fun experience and the fish we ate at dinner that night were delicious.
Thanks Captain Julius and Chubby!!

Hello William J,
There is no fishing tour quite like deep sea fishing! You guys were about to haul in a good catch, not bad at all. It was a world of fun for us to host you. You never really know what to expect when you are on the rolling waves but this day we did pretty good!
Thank you for the beautiful review!

Highly highly recommend Captain Bubba and Fishbone Tours. After researching for someone on the island to take our group of 6 on a casual boat tour where we could explore the island, we ended up choosing Captain Bubba and he checked off all of the boxes. We were in Eleuthera for 4 days and the boat ride with Captain Bubba and Chubby was the highlight of our trip. We had to opportunity to see so much of what Eleuthera has to offer and surrounding islands while fishing, jumping in the water, and most importantly, just relaxing and enjoying island life. The adventure tour was excellent, and I know all of his other tours could only be even better. Go spend a day with Captain Bubba and Chubby, it will be worth it.

We had a wonderful day on the boat with Captain Bubba! Everything was just perfect for our family of five—kids age 10, 12 and 16. We saw turtles, an old plane wreck in the water, beautiful mangroves and beaches, sharks, and star fish. We snorkeled in a small area that was perfect for the kids’ first time—it was pretty shallow and calm with plenty of colorful fish to make it fun for all. I highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Eleuthera. Captain Bubba has a fun, vibrant personality and he’s a very knowledgeable local. He made sure we got some great family photos too. You can’t go wrong spending a day on the beautiful water with Fishbone Tours!

While vacationing with our adult children, we found Fishbone Restaurant from the sign on Queens Highway. I'm so glad we detoured for a delicious lunch. Julius stopped by our table and offered a tour. We booked for the very next afternoon. He is a wonderful man and tour guide. What an amazing experience! My husband brought in a barracuda, which was so exciting. We saw amazing wildlife, sea turtles and sharks as well as snorkeling and fishing. Plus a pretty exciting boat ride! He informed us on fish and wildlife as well as some history about the area. Even though it sprinkled a couple of times, that didn't stop us from having the time of our lives. At the end of the tour, he gave my husband a very generous, heartfelt and treasured gift. This is one adventure that should not be missed. I can not rate this tour high enough! Thank you so much Julius!!

Hello, we are a family of 6 who are arriving December 29, 2019 on the Sky Princess at Princess Cayes. We are interested in a guided tour of Eleuthera or to see the surrounding islands. Can you provide us with a tour with pickup? Thank you very much, Angela

Hi! I’ve sent several messages over the last month or so. Is Julius still offering tours?! We will be there next week, and I’m getting a little worried that we haven’t been able to book any tours. We’d really love to book through him! He came highly recommended by friends!

Can you possibly find sand dollars in the ocean?? Also, do you find turtles most of the time? Thanks!
Written 15 March 2018
Just saw this .. so you probably have your answer by now - or you have already visited! But in any case... there are sand dollars at a different location -- called Sand Dollar Beach. That was the most beautiful place on earth, but you must get there via boat. We did see turtles every time we were in the water.

I was wondering if you do tours of any of the many ponds on Eleuthera? I am looking to find shells there. What is the average depth of the ponds... inches, 2-3 ft, or deeper? I have a fear of deep water, especially when I cannot see what is around me. What would I need to wear, as in, gloves, sneakers? Are there sharks/barracudas in those ponds? Any help you could offer would be great so as to alleviate any fears I have. Silly but true. Thank you in advance.

Do you ever encounter dolphins on any of your tours? If so, is it rare or frequent? I haven't seen any pictures of dolphins attached to your page.
Written 18 June 2015
Hi Craig C
We do sometimes, however we cannot control the marine life. Dolphins are not always in the area where most of the Adventure Tour takes place as it is too shallow during low tide. Some times they are seen when we are doing the Reef Fishing aspect of the tour. (Atlantic ocean) Hope that helps!
