Awesome place with amazing water. Even in the pouring rain, we had a blast. Make sure you get a golf cart and go riding all over (it's not that big) especially down to the very south end. Great kitschy souvenirs, great food stands, and little grocery stores all over. The new cruise ship pier and the free tram was fantastic but it only takes you to the HIlton and the beach on the north end. There is also a fancy beach club and casino by Hilton. 4 out of 5 stars only for the not so clean beaches that were free. But, definitely worth the trip.

Firstly, let me point out that the very negative review left by a previous guest is a long way from the wonderful week we experienced only a week later.
I have food allergies too and we had many emails from Geoff patiently explaining what could be offered or changed to accommodate this. Manuela did a first class job with the food making sure everybody was very well fed and certainly nobody ever went hungry. She would come and find me to discuss the next meal and how I needed it changed and show me any packaging so I could check things for myself to really make sure.
If you have food allergies you need to give some thought to the fact that a boat is not going to be equipped with a massive kitchen and therefore separate working areas to avoid cross contamination is not really very easy to do. If you have these issues it is down to you to do your research first!
Food was very plentiful with snacks also available to help yourself to during the day. No meal was repeated through the week and I think that the crew do a superb job of looking after everyone as I know I certainly couldn't cater for those numbers from such a small kitchen and turn out the super food they do.
On our first day we boarded Indigo, settled in and had our first lovely lunch. We were shown around Indigo and informed of some do's and don'ts. These rules are in place for the safety and enjoyment of all guests and as the week goes on you will see why they are necessary.
We then went to the beautiful She'll Beach a short walk away from where Indigo is moored and for as far as the eye could see we were the only people there, it was just heaven.
On the Monday we were fitted with the quality free dive gear that Geoff so kindly loans his guests for the duration of their trip. Having issues with claustrophobia I found the mask difficult to put on but Geoff was so kind and patient I got there eventually.
We spent the afternoon snorkelling with and feeding stingrays, which was an amazing experience and gives Geoff and the crew chance to assess guests swimming abilities for activities still to come to make sure people are given the support and encouragement they need and above all to ensure safety.
On the Tuesday we picked up the Dolphins quite quickly but sadly the waves were too big for us to be allowed in the water but that's nature and you just need to accept that safety comes first. We spent a blissful and entertaining three or four hours watching the Dolphins play surfing the waves and exhibiting other natural behaviours. Just sit back and watch, it's fascinating and Geoff will tell you about some of the behaviours.
Wednesday we had our first go on the ropes behind Indigo and I took the plunge and joined in. What a wonderful experience! Those Dolphins come so close, it's just incredible. I only lasted a short time in the water as being new to snorkelling I was finding it a bit tough going but again Geoff was very supportive and said he was proud of my efforts. The support from crew and other guests was really very kind. In the afternoon we went snorkelling on the Atlantis Wall, where we saw Pablo the turtle and a lobster.
Thursday we had the most amazing day and one I shall never forget. We had a session on the ropes, which was wonderful. Then just before lunch the Dolphins arrived with us again so lunch was put on hold while we all went back on the ropes.
In the afternoon we were incredibly lucky and came across a pod of bottle nose Dolphins hunting. Again, we all changed quickly and went free swimming with them to watch them feed. They had two babies with them too so we felt incredibly fortunate to have seen them.
Thursday night we had bbq chicken for tea, which is a new meal recently introduced to the menu cooked on the most amazing bbq I have ever seen and was delicious like all of the meals.
Very sadly Friday morning was time for us to depart but not before we had watched the brilliant video JC put so much time into making for us.
We didn't have a holiday, we had the most amazing adventure and I cannot praise Geoff and his wonderful hard working crew enough.
Huge thanks to Geoff for his patience teaching me to snorkel, to Manuela for feeding us all so well, to JC for the brilliant photos and dvd and to Bryan for also helping me learn to snorkel.
This was an adventure I didn't want to leave and we hadn't even left Indigo and we were talking of returning.
Just remember safety really is important on this trip and Geoff and the crew have no control over weather conditions but rest assured they will do their utmost to give you that trip of a lifetime.

We went out on a snorkeling tour of Bimini road. There were many schools of fish and we got to dive down and examine the road. There were many elements that seem natural and yet many parts that had man made elements. You decide...

We made the biggest mistake spending $1800 Canadian to visit this island from Fort Lauderdale. How it’s a destination spot is beyond me? Locals are extremely rude, including the people who greet you off the cruise and in customs. We got bad looks from every local we encountered. They did not seem like they wanted us there whatsoever. Do not go to M&M Golf cart rentals, they charged us $120 for a broken golf cart and when we returned it called my husband a baby and rudely asked him “if he thought he was purchasing a Lexus”? This island is also filled with disgusting trash, wear shoes at all times even in the ocean.

I've brought many guests to snorkel the Bimini Road, aka Stone of Atlantis, over the past 15 years and they all enjoy this spot. Its a beautiful reef with rows of huge stones (definitely man-made in my book!) and tons of fish. To fully appreciate the history of this place, read up on Edgar Cayce's predictions about it!

Made the dive on August 22nd through the Big Game Club. This is the best shallow water dive I have made anywhere so far. The marine life is abundant, fish, eels, lobsters, coral and more. It is also the most colorful of dive spots I have tried in Bimini.
The stones look like giant charcoal briquettes, which look like a road from above. When down close & personal they still make you wonder what they really are. Definitely looks man made and very old. Lobsters like to hide underneath them as well as fish & eels. Lionfish also, like to hang out under the ledges by the bottom so be cautious when getting close to take a look.
The dive is less that 20’ so you can stay down a long time. Of all the shallow dives made in Bimini this one in my opinion was the best.

Bimini Island is small and attractive. One quiet main road runs the length of the island. It is easy to rent a golf cart for the day and choose where to stay off close to the pretty beaches or small towns for a meal or drink.

We grabbed a Golf Cart by the ferry drop off and went onto the Bimini roads. The island is not big so you won't get lost. There are coast roads to find a place to lay out or take photos.

The day we snorkeled over Bimini Road was nice, the water and visibility - excellent. And lots of marine life only added to the thrill of swimming in the place that may be one of the biggest mysteries in the world.

The collection from hotel to the ferry port was very good and the boat its self excellent, a smooth journey and everything you needed on board with helpful staff.
The drop off carriages to the beach were waiting for us and took us to the beach but there was no direction of how to access the Hilton hotel which most people had paid extra for.
The return trip was a farce with no direction on where to go to be taken back and once we did get on a carriage we were dropped off at the Hilton with no explanation and having to wait a very long time in the heat for the buses to take us back to the ferry and then it being an almost scrum to get a seat ( again no one to advisor or help)
The beach its self was beautiful and the sea crystal clear and so warm.
Be warned though it cost $27 for a sun brolly, something you needed in such strong sun with younger people with you.
What spoilt this trip for us was the music blasting from the bar area on to the beach, it wasn't just loud but booming. We don't mind music on the beach generally but this music was inappropriate for young children and so deafening it left you with a headache.
We did ask if it could be turned down as after all we should have been relaxing on a beautiful beach on a tropical Island but were told the music motivated the staff!
The staff at the bar/ restaurant were exceptionally slow with everything and generally appereared to not being bothered to help or serve you.
If like us you want to experience a beautiful place, relax then this is not the place for you.

Will we still be able to see Bimini Road by snorkeling when the tide is high? We do not have diver certification.
