This reef is a must see and when you go I hope the conditions are at least as good as ours. Plan your trip on slack tide so you are not fighting the current, the less the wind the better and hope the ocean swell is not large. Our conditions were ideal and the reef showed her beauty like the... More

We (6 adults, 4 children) snorkeled at Sandy Cay while we were chartering "Shearwater" (a sailing 57' catamaran (see sailtheabacos.com) for 8 days. We have snorkeled in the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico, and the Virgin Islands, but Sandy Cay was the best snorkeling we have had. We were fortunate there was not much surge. We could anchor the boat within about... More

We really enjoyed our snorkeling at Pelican Cays, but unfortunately our summer weather has had 15 mph winds.. a bit much to enjoy this wonderful underwater park. However, many beautiful fish abound and still great coral!

This was probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. As a snorkler, rather than a diver, I loved it as there was more close to the surface. The only issue is that the current is strong, so it would be better to go at slack tide.

I love Sandy Cay Reef which is part of the Pelican Cays National park. We donated a mooring so it is easy, just tie up and though it is deep at the mooring, the reef soon reaches toward the surface with colorful corals, fish, - it is amazing - I feel like I am in one of those tanks at... More
