Well for a three dollar donation it was nice. The trails are well marked and it is an easy loop trail. The trails do have some markings of the plant life and the pond area is pretty. It takes about 45 minutes to do the entire loop. If you have the time it is a nice peaceful area

Score is somewhat low due to being on a stressed tour which had one this as one of the stops. With that said, it might deserve a score of average but I doubt it. From my observation of a couple of cages with snakes and a couple of birds, I would never pay to see this place. I'm the odd... More

The nature center is part of the national park system. We learned about a variety of native plants and animals--including the national tree, the lignum vitae; and the national flower, the yellow elder. We also learned to identify the poisonwood tree. It was raining so we didn't get to spend as much time as I would like on the trails.... More

When I arrived the big green iron gate was open and there was 3-4 vehicles parked in the parking lot. The gift shop had a sign that said it was closed. I figured the park/trails were open and the gift store closed. There were several cars, so I figured there were other people in the park. ( I had just... More

We stopped at this Nature Center on our van tour of the island. It is a must-see for people interested in the vegetation of the islands. The guides are very knowledgeable about the different plants that grow on the island and the different ways you can use then to treat medical ailments. There are some resident injured animals that you... More

This 100 acre planted refuge was the antidote to the scheduled activities of our cruise and resort time. We saw many labeled plants and using a bird guide we purchased at the nature center spotted a good number of species. There was evidence of much needed rebirth and imminent expansion of the grounds . The center has good exhibits and... More

Don't trust the maps - I think they are not to scale. Figured we would walk up from Ocean Reef and I think it ended up being 2.5 to 3 miles. Really enjoyed the turtles at the pond, as well as checking out all of the different birds. Highpoint was seeing the "local" hummingbirds. On the walk up we also... More

Took a Top 10 off Carnival and this was one stop off. Had the best tour guide (Ronne) and driver Steve. Small walk through the woods but lots of info on the plant life.

We drove all the way out here and arrived at 1:00. The hours are until 4:00. It was New Years Eve day and the lady was just closing up. Did not know this day was a holiday also in the Bahamas!
