These gardens are worth a visit if you are an enthusiast. The grounds are rather neglected in places but there is an old world charm there and some of the plants are impressive. The main gates were locked and we entered via a side door.

I was here in connection to the Food and Culture festival in the month of October. Crowded and not so much to see.

We tried to visit the botanical gardens in conjunction with a visit to the Ardastra Gardens and Zoo but could not find the entrance or any signs. There were some men raking inside the garden's wall and we asked one where the entrance was but...More

If you want to see some nature and greenery then check out one of the national parks (see my review of Primeval Forest National Park). The botanical gardens are located behind Fort Charlotte and to be honest, need some serious work. It's a two dollar...More

We went knowing the reviews sucked! I love tree's and nature so I figured it wouldn't be that bad. I'm sure if it wasn't winter there may have been flowers blooming but when we arrived not a single person around and a bunch of trees...More

As a gardener. And as a gardener in a similar climate with highly Alkaloid limestone soils I hope that the Botanical Gardens reach out to gardens like The Kampong, Fairchild Tropical Gardens, and others in FL to learn more about improving their cultural practices. The...More

The botanical gardens is located on the same road as the zoo. It's fairly small, so we accidently passed it the first time around. The garden has a few paths to walk around and features a pond & a non-working fountain. The coolest thing in...More

This happens every year, around 19/20th October. 5 dollars. Entrance fee. 30 countries exhibiting their food and culture. Music from brass bands. What a spectacular event for a small island, well done Bahamas. Best to go early as it gets very busy in the afternoon....More

Went to the Botanic Garden yesterday 17 September 2013, looking forward to more 'jungle' than I'd encountered at Ardastra Gardens and Zoo (read: small zoo with some planting). Arrived 2.15pm, but the woman on the entrance didn't want to let me in, 'not enough time'....More
