We rolled into this park on a weekday (Monday, 1/27/2020) when it was technically not open. The gate was open so we drove in and walked the boardwalk. It was low tide, but we still saw a lot of bonefish, other tropical fish, and even a crab. Since we were there on a weekday, there was no snorkeling or kayaking going on - it looks to me like a cool place to return with snorkel gear.

We were taken to the Bonefish Pond National Park by Carolyn Wardle as part of our full-day birding tour. She explained about the different types of mangrove plants and showed us a number of birds. My husband got pictures of two different herons. The boardwalk provides an excellent view of the area while keeping visitors from trampling through the mud and disturbing the wildlife and vegetation.

We stopped here for a few minutes on our drive back to the airport. Not a lot of parking - but the place didn't appear to be too busy. Saw some cool fish and birds. They have some nice placards along the pathway - and a great covered patio at the end of the path so you can sit in the shade and enjoy the breeze and the view.

If your passing that way it’s worth a stop but not worth a special trip. It’s only open Saturday and Sunday. Boardwalk has stairs down to the water if you are interested in snorkeling it could be the only place to do it without a boat which is a major plus if snorkeling or kayaking. We came on a windy day with a low tide so there were no birds to be seen and not as much water life.

The short, informative tour was okay. Would've been nice to have kayaked more. They took photo's of my daughter & I, that was back in March 2018 and to date, we've not received the photo's. When I try to contact them, I get no reply. They'll take your money though, if you want to book a tour. We made conch fritters afterwards, and I will say that was fun, and delicious. One of the reasons we chose this tour, was for the photo's... sadly no photos. I see below, I could add a photo; would love to IF I HAD THEM.

Once you have passed all the burnt out cars and other vehicles on the road down to Bonefish Pond, you reach a walkway that takes you out over the mangrove swamps. Quite picturesque but nothing really to write home about!

Bonefish Pond is a great example of Bahamians’ efforts to reclaim the natural beauty of their islands. It’s a wetland maze of mangrove roots, where you can spot birds, bonefish, checkered puffers, and other inhabitants. I’m told there are nurse sharks and turtles not far away, if you go at high tide.
The park itself is a quick visit: a walk down the boardwalk to a pavilion where you can gaze at all of the above. I *highly* recommend booking a kayak tour to get a closer look—we did one with True from Ultimate Tours Bahamas, and it was a great insight into the area.

The pond is a tranquil space for bird watchers, kayakers and those who just love nature. It's also a great educational ground for children.

The only hours I can find are 9-5 Sat and Sun. Found that in Trip Advisor (the UI won't let me put the URL here).
That being said, if I recall correctly (not sure on this), the park was officially closed the day we went. We parked outside the entrance and were able to walk along the path and boardwalk. There was absolutely nobody else around.
