Nice place to snorkel even for beginners. Saw 3 large green sea turtles and many fish. The beach area was nice, not crowded. Fun watching the pelicans.

I have been traveling to St John for over 20 years and finally bought a house on the island. One thing that hasn't changed in those years is that Maho is still my favorite. The beach is more crowded now, and it is much harder to park if you are visiting during the high season and get a late start.... More

Pretty beach but crowded. Snorkeling with turtles but not many other fish. Visibility was low the day we were there. Typical park service 'hole in the ground" toilets. Soft sand beach with gradual slope. Beach can get narrow or go away when the tide comes in.

A very nice place to snorkel, stay to the left side. I saw a lot of cool wildlife including a sea turtle and a sting ray! This is the first beach I went to and it it was one of my favorites. It is really close to the parking lot which is great as well.

This Bay is quite massive, made up of the greater and lesser Maho beaches and Francis beach. There are some amazing view points up the hill that give you a perfect view of the Bay and its deep blue waters.

A long stretch of sand with bathroom facilities. Calm waters are good for small children and beginner snorkelers. We saw turtles and rays.

Great beach in early morning or end of the day, with fewer people. Good spot for paddle boarding and snorkeling. Water is generally calm/flat. If you are lucky, you may see a sea turtle!

The snorkeling here was absolutely amazing. Like mentioned before there really isn't much coral, even though the maps will tell you there is reef surrounding the cove. We saw more turtles than we could count and 2 stingrays! The beach does not have amenities but it is beautiful and taxis drive by all day long so you can come and... More

Maho is/was may favorite beach on St. John. This was my third trip to St. John, and Maho is where I like to go first every time. However, this time, I wasn't able to go to Maho first because every single parking spot in and out of the lot was taken. We tried the first time around 10 or 11am,... More
