This part of the Virgin Islands National Park is literally at the end of the road. The VITRAN bus(it costs a dollar) route ends at this point and so does the pavement accessible to anything but all terrain vehicles. A little walk from Route 107 will lead you to the Salt Pond and a teaming world of sea life. If... More

The snorkeling here is good. Especially when the north shore beaches are having large waves and swells. If you're coming for sunbathing and sitting on the shore, don't bother. It gets hot when the sun reflects off the water and onto the beach. There's a quarter-mile trail down to the bay - which means it's uphill too.

Easy hike out to a beautiful bay on the remote end of St. John. There are a few picnic tables around the bay and it is also on the way to Drunk Bay.

Decent snorkeling, nothing exceptional. Make sure you bring some bug repellant as their are lots of mosquitos!

Salt Pond Beach - The walk from the parking lot to Salt Pond Beach is a lot shorter than Waterlemon, but it is downhill and you will have to trek you way back out at the end of day. The beach has a little shade and a few picnic tables. Snorkeling on the northside of the bay was bad and... More

I went to this beach a couple of times & absolutely loved everything about it. The Ram Head trail begins there, & is well worth doing. It's only a 3-4 minute walk to the beach from the parking lot, & then the Ram Head trail takes about 45 minutes from there to reach the top before heading back. The snorkeling... More

This place is perfect if you want to COMPLETELY UNPLUG. So peaceful. It's very hot on this side of the island so take plenty of water and get yourself some shade. I hung out here to float, snorkel and hike. Loved the access to Ram's Head and Drunk Beach Trails. I make it a point to come here every time... More

The beach here is lovely and not often crowded. Parking is a small gravel lot and you have to hike a small trail to the beach. It's a good idea to wear water shoes or sneakers for this part. Bug spray is also a good idea. On this small hike we saw a ton of wildlife including hermit crabs. The... More

This was bar far m favorite place to snorkel. It's out of the way, but I think it's well worth it. When entering the beach, the area closest to you is where all the coral is. If you swim a bit further out and into the middle part of the beach, you'll see lots of sea grass (I saw a... More

Far side of island and well worth the drive! We saw lots of small colorful fish fair amount of broken coral but made the ocean floor pretty a few turtles and one sting ray. A small maybe one foot shark same by (not sure where his mama was hanging out) which was really cool too. Lots of rocks on one... More
