We loved this snorkeling spot. It was one of our 3 favorite places on St. John. An easy 3/4-mile hike to get to the beach, but if you walk further around to the point, you can get closer to the cay, and that's the best snorkeling spot. I've never seen so much coral in one spot, and schools and schools... More

The diversity of snorkeling here beats all else on St. John. Enjoy the company of Rays, Octipus, and every fish imaginable. Schools of fish will surround you, and share their waters...Not easy to get to, but well worth the effort!

Six of us sailed over today and the water was beautiful. Like the title says there are a lot of fans and a good assortment of fish. I hung for a while and watched five beautiful big green parrots just pecking away at some coral and sand looking for food. There was something on some rocks that looked like a... More

Probably one of the best snorkeling spots on the island. But be prepared for strong currents and swells during the fall/winter months. To get to the cay you have to swim a good distance across deep water. I came across a barracuda as I was swimming back. Fortunately I didn't come across anything bigger, or with rows of teeth, if... Be well prepared! Please use fins and some sort of flotation devise (snorkel life vest). The current at the top of the cay is very strong. If not for answered prayers, I wouldn't be writing this review. The left side of the cay was beautiful and I decided not to go all the way around when a couple we met... More

I've snorkeled here three times. I've seen a spotted manta ray, squid, a nurse shark and lots of fish. Plan to hike about a mile to get out there. Bring some water with you. Make sure that you snorkel on the back side of Waterlemon Cay. Be careful because the current is stronger on the back side of the island.

We had rented a jeep, so we drove as far as we could, then walked the 20 minute walk on flat, sandy ground to the best snorkeling I've ever seen! Don't carry a bunch of stuff like we did. Wear water shoes, not flip-flops. Getting in the water can be hard on your feet, but once you get to floating... More

We hiked the mile to reach the launch point for the snorkel around Waterlemon Cay. We saw a few fish but nothing special compared to the experiences we had at both Haulover North and Jumbie.

My husband and I spent a week on St John from October 29th to November 5th, 2016. We stayed in Cruz Bay, and we snorkeled almost every day. The trip to Waterlemon Cay required a taxi ride ($9 for each of us) to the hiking trail access. The trail was easy, and there were two main access points to swim... More

Waterlemon Cay is always our favorite snorkel spot along with Haulover Bay. Terrific spot but a bit of a walk, well worth the effort. Saw eagle rays, turtle, nurse shark and tons of fish. Swim counterclockwise around the Cay
