The good news: this world-class stretch of white sand and turquoise water is St. John's most photographed beach, which features a marked underwater trail for beginning snorkelers. The bad news: because of its popularity, it can get very crowded with cruise ship passengers and members of sightseeing tours.

One of the best snorkeling beaches around with clear water, white sand and gorgeous landscape. There are facilities to get food and drink and rent snorkeling equipment and kayaks too.

Don't miss this beach if you travel to St. John. Underwater snorkel trail is really cool. A national park gem.

Make sure to stop at the overview on the road leading up to Trunk Bay. Best place on the island to take photos. Incredibly scenic. Some nice snorkeling around the islands in the bay. Have seen squid and a great variety of fish there!

Our group of 6 hit Mako Bay and enjoyed.....hit Cinnamon Bay and like a little better....then we went to Trunk Bay and liked it the best of all! The views were spectacular, the water was numerous shades of blue, the sand was fine, and the snorkeling was outstanding just a short way from shoreline. We got there early and for... More

We came in November so it rained hard while there but we went to the bar and snack bar and it stopped raining so we went back to the beach. The water is just pristine! We stayed to the left as more people go to the right where the snorkel trail is. This stop is a MUST!

It is a beautiful beach. Although we did not snorkel, it is rumored that the snorkeling is quite good and pretty easy for a beginner. They offer snorkel gear for a rental fee at the beach. It is $5 USD to enter the park, so I'm sure there is a rental fee for the snorkel gear. They have a little... More

The beach was beautiful. Clear water, white sand, reminded me a lot of Magen's Bay in St. Thomas. They have a bar and food for purchase. The food was expensive and not local cuisine, 13 bucks for a sandwich. We saw a sea turtle swimming in the water and (unfortunately a sting ray). There are definitely NO LOCALS on this... More

Trunk Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. The water is crystal clear and the sandy beach stretches forever. We loved snorkeling the underwater trail. Beach chair rentals, snack bar, & drinks are definitely a plus. It's worth the park services $5 entry fee.
