Spent a week in the hills overlooking Coral Bay via Airbnb and it was spectacular! Best part for me was the sunrise over the bay with the pearly eyed thrashers singing their sweet songs every morning. Coral Bay is laid back and "real" island living. The Dolphin Market is right on the bay and has all the supplies you need,... More

There are a few good look out locations to view Coral Bay but to get the real feel you should take a drive alone the Bay and enjoy. There are good restaurants alone the way and the color of the water is amazing.

We rented a vacation home in the hills above Coral Bay and had a very special time. Coral Bay and the beaches in the surrounding area are undeveloped and unspoiled. There is word of a very large planned marina for Coral Bay and a local movement against it. It would absolutely change the area completely- visit the area before this... More

This is the place to go if you don't want crowds but do want great snorkeling and hiking. The restaurants are few but very good. Not much shopping, but that's how we liked it!

Just go you will not regret the trip at all!!!Just head into Cruz bay, stop at uncle joe's chicken and ribs and start your trip from there. Only a handful of roads, shake and bake the island. You'll see what I mean. Have fun!!! Steve

Coral Bay is laid back, quiet, beautiful, convenient and the best part of the island. There are plenty of places to eat and shop and you are close to a lot of great snorkeling and sunning beaches. Why put up with the craziness of Cruz Bay when you can chill out in the authentic St. John zone?!

Some people love the many restaurants and shops in Cruz Bay but we much prefer a quieter vacation so Coral Bay is perfect for us. There's no hotel so the best thing is to rent a house on VRBO or another site. There's no sand beach in town but it's an easy drive to find one. There are 3 small... More

I was traveling with some girlfriends to St. John and we wanted to get off the island and sail around some of the most beautiful islands in the BVI's. We looked up capt Darin Keech, of the Poets Lounge sailing boat. We knew Darin from Mystic Ct. and had heard that he recently moved to St John to do charters... More

Highly recommend a sail with Darin on Poet's Lounge. He is an excellent captain and host. St. John is an amazing place and even better when you experience it from the water.

Coral Bay is the happening part of the east end, not nearly as populated as Cruz Bay but still offers good food and amazing views in a more secluded setting. Rent a Jeep to get here and simply park alongside the road to enjoy short or long hikes to great secluded beaches with superb snorkeling.
