We took a taxi here and back. Easy to do and cheaper than a tour. About $16 to $20 for two one way. Limited amenities as it is in a park. Small entrance fee. Picnic tables & pavillions available. The water was crystal clear, warm,...More
We decided on Magens Bay for our port day in St. Thomas. Actually short ride (15-20 minutes) with sceinic views along the way. The beach was just stunning. Water warm & sand soft. We chose to settle further down from the action & never felt...More
We went on a cloudy day (even a few sprinkles), so the beach was almost deserted despite there being a (Disney) cruise ship in town. It appears that there used to be many more trees. From above, you can see where the hurricanes stripped all...More
The pictures I had seen of Magen's Bay do not do it justice. It is a beautiful beach surrounded by mountains. I would recommend that you go on non-cruise days (Thursday-Saturday). But if you are on a cruise excursion, I guess there's that. All I...More
Went late afternoon and almost had the beach to ourselves. Water and sand was beautiful! One of my top fav two on the island! Not a ton to see underwater, but water was so calm you didn't need a mask to look down in the...More
This was one of the most beautifully scenic beaches I have ever been too. It can get a bit crowded but the views are worth it. There is plenty of shady spots if you want to avoid the sun which one of my friends did...More
Greatest beach in the Caribbean. Even after devastating damage from 2 cat 5 hurricanes, it has come back to a beautiful beach. With the help of Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, palm trees are replanted, restaurant and bar, and gift shop has all been rebuilt. Enjoy...More
We were there in mid-June, and it was beautiful! Not much shade to be found on the beach, but we rented an umbrella (there were signs saying there weren't any to rent but we asked and they had a few). It was a fantastic day!

Around 20 minutes, if you use a taxi. If there are several cruise ships in port, it can get pretty crowded and take longer. They have lots of "open air" taxis on the island. If you use one, the driver will usually wait until it's full, which is around 10-12 people, before they leave. They are the most economical.
